I just get to see a lot of the highlights from various people I follow on Twitter. Some European Ranger fans.

This is another case of paying a player more than he is worth and then saying he sucks. This happens all the time with them. They sign players to a deal that is above what they should get and instead of recognizing the overpayment as the chief issue people drone on how they are never living up to the deal. Happened with Richards, Drury, Redden, Shattenkirk, Dan Boyle and others. 8m for Trouba is an overpayment but it doesn't mean he sucks.

Thank you for clarifying. The reply function doesn’t always work for me. Dunno why.

Within the comments section, clicking on the quote button doesn’t always work. I see that it is, this time. But you were correct. I was trying to reply to the messiah guy.

The NHL is still hoping to start next season in January first. League hopes to make an official announcement as soon as possible. It could take another 7 to 10 days. Lots of works to be done until then.

I’ve noticed that for some reason it’ll work if you’ve already commented on the thread.

There is some other variable, too, but I’m not sure what it is.

Trouba should've only accepted a 6m$ offer, and said I'm not worth 8m.

Half of those players really did kind of blow though. I'll say this about the article, I actually agree that Trouba's contract, especially in the Covid times, isn't really aging well. He's a real solid player and I sort of put him in the Yandle basket, the expectations were so high he probably was never going to fulfill them because they were a touch unrealistic.

I think we can safely to say objectively, so far we've gotten everything we could have expected out of him and possibly a bit more. As Jim said, he was a rock defensively at times, and eats a ton of minutes. That being said, on a cup winning team he's probably someone who is your 2nd best d rather than your best. We hope someone like Fox or one of the kids can fill that role.

I'm hoping. I have to say the the later start to the season didn't hit me until like a month ago when I realized in a normal year we'd already be in the grind of a NHL season. Then Saturday, I'm getting my haircut at Sport Clips, and they are showing the 94 documentary on NHL network, I'm ready for this thing to get started.

They have to make a call soon, if it's a January start training camps are less than 3 weeks away. Players need to be able to prepare

If you come into the comments from the main page you'll always get the replies working. If you come to the comments through the blog, they most likely won't.

For me at least.
