Just so we’re clear, now any post having to do with Allen is somehow starting poop with you?

There’s one simple reason, it’s because you know you were wrong when you tried downplaying his performances week after week.

- sbroads24

You brought up “Allen being elite” the very next post after mine
You’re obviously trolling me & trying to start sh!t

Or are u really looking for more confirmation that Allen is elite?

I just highly doubt it’s the latter,
especially since you’re already convinced how correct you are

And I’m sure everyone else sees your OBVIOUS trolling attempt to start sh!t again too

Good I am glad you feel that way. Hope you are right, I am of the opinion I pretty much control what happens in my life, in most ways. I worked hard for what I have, it's what you make of your life, not a bunch of politicians who have been to busy trying to bend eachother over.

This is a great post ! Well said, dude.

I actually brought it up out of the blue as a joke because everyone was disagreeing on politics and I jokingly said we’d all agree on Allen being elite.

But of course my positivity triggers you as much as my negativity.

And I’m sure everyone else could see my OBVIOUS attempt at a joke

It’s funny how you seem to be allowed to do the exact same thing and post directly about me

DOOR #2 earned him 2.2 million x 3 years.

Something changed. Wasn't Girgs playing year to year with Larry?

Why the 3 years this contract?

EK has the Sabres as 1 of 3 teams as favorites to land Hoffman. Can he play both wings, thought he was a LW.
- Buff36

Bump.

Any thoughts here? Would mean a DMan is traded, I would imagine.

If he could play RW... silly strong top 6, and excellent top 9.

Would imagine in a D trade, would bring in a G and we are off. Let’s do this! It would be a 1 year thing, but I’m interested.

You forgot Eakin

Maybe Girgs does bump up the lineup?
He did score well last year (*for him)

Maybe we don’t use a “log” line anymore?
It’s certainly possible
I just wouldn’t assume that though
Especially since they’re most likely gonna be shuffling around the scoring lines to see who has chemistry

I like the idea of grit & toughness throughout the lineup, but only if those guys actually play well in those roles moving up

My guess on the lineup looks somewhat like:
Hall-Eichel-Reinhart
Skinner-Staal-Olofsson/Cozens
Olofsson/Mitts-Eakin/Mitts/Cozens-Tage/Cozens
Reider-Girgs-Okposo
13th- Lazar

- jdfitz77

Crags is gonna be triggered - Girgensons (implied), Grit and toughness all in one sentence.

I forgot about Eakin, good call. I bet he sees some unusually prime ice time with our top guys too. We do have a soccer czar as our hockey coach?

I think Mitts is goona be turned into a goalie?

Well there was some stuff a few weeks back that Miller or Montour could be heading out West. I would really like Adams to see if the Kings might be interested in a swap for one of the C prospects, they are loaded with some good ones, and we could use some good depth down the middle, we still have to think about are prospect pool and Rochester.

My view is that nothing changed and they gave out a completely unnecessary deal to a guy on the wrong side of the aging curve.

Well don't like it, waste off 700,000 dollars but it's over and he's here, so hopefully he can bring some of what he brought last year.

He scored a lot of PP goals from the right circle, but I think would start on the point (4F/1D) and wind up over there. I think most of the time 5v5 he may have been on the left side, but I’m not sure. He didn’t play a whole lot 5v5 with Barkov/Huberdeau, but when he did it would’ve been on RW, as Hubie always is on LW. So, I think he can play both. And his shot is even more dangerous on his off (R) wing. I linked a highlight reel earlier today, iirc pg 55 or 56. He can score from anywhere.

Risto for Hanifin would be nice.

Would save us $450K on the cap too.

Every dollar counts.

Yeah it would, but it said they want to save money on a deal not take money back.

Can honestly say I didn’t think of that.

I would be very surprised if Hoffman ended up here. I don’t think it makes much sense.

He is meh at 5v5 however he is elite on the man advantage but we have Olofsson who will essentially fill that same role.

Crazier things have happened though.

Using NHL data for the 1997-1998 through 2011-2012 seasons, we examine the effect of age on scoring performance and plus-minus for NHL skaters (non-goalies) and on save percentage for goaltenders. We emphasize fixed-effects regression methods that estimate a representative age-performance trajectory. We also use a method based on the best performances over time, a method based on the age distribution of NHL players, and a "naïve" specification that does not correct for selection bias. In addition we estimate individual age-performance relationships to obtain a distribution of peak ages. All methods provide similar results (with small but understandable differences) except the naïve specification, which yields implausible results, indicating that correcting for selection bias is very important. Our best estimate of the scoring peak age is between 27 and 28 for forwards and between 28 and 29 for defencemen. Both forwards and defencemen exhibit near-peak performance over a wide range, going from about 24 to 32 and 24 to 34, respectively. Goaltenders display little systematic performance variation over most of the age range from the early 20s to late 30s.

This casts a little shadow of a doubt on your post.

Girgensons is 26 years old and would be going into what some experts consider a prime scoring age.

12 SPECTACULAR goals last year, pre-prime. Zem might even press skinner type #'s (while saving 6.8 million) with 14 goals next year.?
