Yep. People forget his physical presence. Dude was tall, but not necessarily the tallest, but just thick, and fast, and talented.

Lindros was unique - nobody I've watched play has ever had that much physicality to go with that much skill (I only remember G. Howe as a Whaler).

You might find some comparables as defencemen - Pronger, Robinson, Stevens.

Lindros was more fun to watch.

There is a very long history of right wing wacko (including Waco) violence in this country. Tim McVeigh alone killed more people than all anarchists in the past 30 years. More recently, remember the woman who was run over at Charlottesville?

Closest thing I can compare seeing him in perspective with everyone else was Shaq.

Embiid more recently to a lesser extent.

First Flyers game I went to I saw Gretzky play. He wasn't big or fast, but he was just waaayyyy smarter than everyone else on the ice and it showed. I think he had 3 points that game.

The Malkin suggestion has some merit. Malkin has the body to blend the size with over the top skill, but the mentality is completely different. Malkin can go after and engage when Hes pissy. I understand how great Lindros was and how loved he was. I loved that guy too. But Bobby Clarke IS the Flyers. If you, as a flyers fan, imagine your perfect hockey player, Bobby Clarke would be better. Eric Lindros was the basically a bigger faster more talented Bobby Clarke but Clarke is still better than big E. Voting for anyone but Clarke is the surest indicator that the voter didn’t get to watch the 70’s to early 80’s Flyers.
