The premier of the province of Ontario said last night that nothing has been decided on this issue....a lot can happen in 3 months. I’d be shocked if this happened. Cooler heads will prevail.

One of the dumbest things I've ever heard. The Ontario Minister of Sport Lisa McLeod has ZERO knowledge or experience in the sporting world. She was previously responsible for for the Autism Ontario Program and did such a poor job that families of autistic individuals called for her resignation and she was later demoted.
The woman doesn't have a clue and should not be making policies for areas she's knows nothing about.
No checking in the worlds best junior hockey leagues is beyond asinine.

Although technically a professional league...they make peanuts.

They shouldn’t have to risk their health for hockey...it’s not worth it.

This could go bad in so many ways...

More questions than there are answers. The term body check refers to a lot more than just open ice hits, it would basically rule out ALL contact. A player would have to learn the game all over again from scratch just to defend. There would be no pinning against the boards or clearing the crease. Would not be surprised to see game goal totals reach 30-40 between the two teams.

It's bad enough we still have to watch games getting decided by breakaway challenges, now may have to sit through this? I haven't watched the NFL in a decade and I think I'd rather watch that water downed league than no contact hockey.
