to the folks who bash RW for writing so many negative blogs about the Pens:

it's not his fault that so many of the storylines around the Penguins are negative

in the last 3 years they've won 1 playoff round and the GM has put them in a position where they have rather little blue-line depth, very little prospect depth, and they're paying Jack Johnson for the next 6 years

also, the team went from having MAF and Matt Murray in net, to having Jarry and DeSmith

- Coburns_Nose

The goaltending will be fine.

Ironically, we’d be better off if we had two less defensemen. I’m not nearly as worried about our blue line depth as I am our forward depth. What im worried about with the blue line is bad deployment.

Tell me, is there a difference between being a minority or being someone like yourself? Or are you a minority?

If got nhl center ice will I get all the pens games or would they be blacked out because I’m considered local to Pittsburgh?

I got all of them, however I travel for my construction company all over the U.S. and cannot answer the local to Pittsburgh question. I would think, though, because the arenas will be sparsely occupied this season that the blackouts might not occur.

With this being 100 percent true, an older person who has no racists thoughts or beliefs in their body can get crucified for saying something that has been conditioned to them as normal these days.

My understanding of all these packages offered by leagues like the NHL, NBA, and NFL, is that local channels (in this case AT&T) own the local broadcast rights to hometown games, which results in a blackout on the national league provided services within the local area codes.

Question: why do you want Center Ice if you live in Pittsburgh? Is AT&T not an over the air channel that you can get with an antenna?

Nope, I had it and the Pens games were blacked out. Unless it's changed for some reason the past few years.

AT&T is not over air. For many people, it's the only reason they still have cable. They could probably make more if they just set up a streaming service.

Not speaking for him, but a lot of people are moving away from cable and going steam-based only, such as myself. So many that's why?

Regardless a VPN can solve this problem.

Ah well then in that case, I think the best rout is to check Sling and see if AT&T shows up as a local channel they offer. That would be 100% the cheapest way of going about it if you’re only getting tv to watch Pens games, and it’s super easy to cancel when it’s not hockey season.

I’m pretty sure it doesn’t, but don’t know for sure. I just asked about center ice recently, because I canceled cable after the season was cut short. Att has a steaming service that includes it, but it’s like $80/mo I think.

Yeah just checked and it looks like the only way to stream AT&T Sportsnet Pittsburgh is to use AT&T's streaming service, which is like the most expensive one on the market. Thought hat this may have been a work around because when I used Sling and YouTube TV I got NBCSN Washington and when I used Fubo I was able to put a Philly zip as my account's zip code and got NBCSN Philly. I guess NBC has a bunch of deals with these services to let you get their local channels but AT&T does not. Makes sense they have a competing service.

This is why I bowed out of the TV streaming service thing. The arms race between all of them to keep increasing the channels they provide got to the point that the prices are now no different than just doing cable. It's a shame because about two years ago I could get all the sports channels I wanted with Sling for like $45 dollars or something. That was a good deal. But now, the Apple TV interface makes it so easy to jump back and forth from each channel's app that it's just not worth it to me to pay for one of these streaming services when I can just plug my parent's cable sub into the various channel apps and spend my money subscribing to premium stuff like CBS All Access and Peacock instead. A streamlined TV guide isn't worth $70 a month to me, which is the only advantage these services provide over what I'm now currently doing.

It is an established fact that GMJR is in a long list of people who can't stand Rob Rossi. I wouldn't be at all surprised that GMJR finds a way to deliberately leak bad information/fake news to Rossi, for him to report upon it and then later made to look like an idiot due to how wrong it is.

Also using a VPN is pretty easy. In fact, I almost never use the internet without it (perhaps when I log on to my bank account or credit card account, but not many other times). I have only ever done it at the computer level - not at the router level - but I am guessing that using a VPN at the router level is not that difficult either.

It's too bad that the Pens games can't be broadcasted on an OTA channel like the Steelers games. That would make watching them pretty easy . I guess they can't pull in enough revenue that way.

All of your comments are right on about Ryan Wilson. All he does is whine about everything with the Pens. I asked him numerous times what he ever accomplished? No Answer He is from Buffalo so why not write about the Sabres? Buffalo Boy move on from the PENS!

Kahun is signing in Edmonton.

Really not significant, it just makes me laugh when that Sabres fan trolled our boards about Buffalo/Pittsburgh's Sheary trade and yet Pittsburgh is the only one that retained any of the players.

They did troll hard over an insignificant trade, but I guess that's all they had going for them lol

To be fair I don’t think it was obvious that there was something wrong with Kahun until after the Sabers didn’t retain him. If I were a sabres fan I would not have thought that trade was insignificant and thought we just got a long term middle six guy with some top 6 upside for an expiring contract and a fourth liner.

Regardless they acted like they got Rust for Sheary and Erod. I liked the way Kahun played(thought of him as a scoring Simon) but I wasn't losing my poop over that trade.
