Just watched Embedded on Youtube and then the next video was a World Junior preview. There's no way the Sabres don't let Cozens play for Canada, right? The NHL doesn't even start until afterwards.

Also, the US plays Russia on Christmas day this year.

Cozens and Quinn were both selected for the camp.

My guess is Cozens plays and Quinn gets cut. That team is stacked. If Quinn makes it I would be very shocked.

Obviously take what Terry the fanboy says w a grain of salt, right?
- Powerslave

Two ways yo take that comment...

1 - Terry is out of touch, has no idea that the roster as currently constructed probably isn't a Playoff Team, and believes his team is done with the addition of Hall
2 - Terry was thinking out loud as he does in fact realize this roster isn't a Playoff Team and additional moves must be taken to get there...his statement is green-lighting that strategy for additional moves.

I think 2 is closer to the truth. I would expect they want a couple additional moves to optimize the roster by position ... it just isn't going to be easy to find the blend of teams who have the need and the money and/or suitable players available.
Yes there are a fair number of teams with Cap Space, many of those don't seem to have the need, and fewer also have a suitable player...suitable as in a) the proper position, and b) profile to fit in to the new Adams definition of a Buffalo Sabre.

I think what he was saying is "if I'm writing this check, we better be good this year"

Of course not and neither did Dallas...he backed up Bishop and then got thrown in and got hot.

It happens but very rarely.

Remember Jonathan Cheechoo scored 56 goals one year and was out of the league 4 seasons later and his last two seasons he scored 17 goals combined.

- Stripes77

Aren’t goalies a bit different.... they can get hot and just steal games in the playoffs.

Khudo this year. Bennington took the blues from the basement to the cup. Murray put Flury on the bench in his first cup run... a goalie has a better chance of getting hot and stealing playoff series. I’m still not sold on Ullmark or Hutton being able to do that. I like Ullmark but he seems too slow adjusting after his initial save... maybe it’s me...

I just learned that Hulu is bringing back 2 seasons of the Animaniacs. 10 year-old Buffalofan19 just got really, really excited.

Another option, more closely aligned to #1 though...we are done and better be good.

I think of Ralph stating he is in win now mode, and think about some of the head scratching moves/decisions he made...hopefully they are working to examine those decisions in the context of becoming better as a coaching staff.
As an example, they need to figure out how to handle Skinner to get 30 G's from him and not relegate him to 13:00 TOI.

If quinn makes the team, one would assume he had the greatest 2 months improvement in the history of hockey?

From the draft night in October to world's cut down night?

#8 OA might not have been your pick, but I think quinn makes the team.

Cozens locks down a top spot , and finishes the season as Sabres roster player.

3. Terry was selling this organization as a playoff team. He was trying to convince a free agent to sign with the 9 straight time playoff less organization? Salesmanship 101?

4. No advanced trade knowledge, probably a seed planted by kagm and Ralph so they spend 8 million more than they wanted on hall. Fluffed internal management selling winning to an old fan.

Not necessarily.

The coach of the Canadian team is the coach of the Ottawa 67’s where Quinn played so possibly politics/familiarity there plays into it.

Also because of his 200 foot play and perceived self awareness he seems like a kid who would accept a bottom 6 role or role as a 12 or 13th forward and be able to play in a defensive role/PK role. Which could definitely be the case if Canada decides to take the best situational fits and not necessarily the top 12 forwards based on skill.

Clayton Keller and Darcy Kuemper for Colin Miller, Carter Hutton, Casey Mittelstadt and one free year of sensitivity training.

The Sabres embedded episode about hall was interesting. Pretty good stuff

The most interesting part was terry saying if we sign hall. We are trying to win a cup and all In sort of.

I don't think this can be over stated. It felt GOOD to hear Ralph say, "We're in WIN NOW mode".

Yes, it's just words, no it means nothing if it doesn't translate to wins on the ice.

But Damn it felt good to hear and see the effort to go get the best FA available.

They're sucking me in again....I hate them
