Did Montour sign his QO or a negotiated deal?

Edit: Based on last year's salary, he negotiated a 1 year deal.

Not out of the realm, but would seem a little odd if they traded him now.

And one more thing.. they paraded out every one of their signings, and Staal... except Montour and Girgensons.

An upgrade in goal makes them a playoff team (still not sold on them being one without an upgrade there)

To be a cup contending team they need a major upgrade on the blue line and or Dahlin to take the next step in his development.

Remember Jonathan Cheechoo scored 56 goals one year and was out of the league 4 seasons later and his last two seasons he scored 17 goals combined.

By the way, if Joker, Cozens and Dahlin all hit their bonuses, we'll be about 1.5M over the cap. It's unlikely that they will all hit their peak bonuses, but the 3 of them total out to be $4,337,500. Adding even another million dollars to the team would likely mean overages for 21-22.

Random question. Ullmark Reinhart and today Olofsson has or had their Zoom meetings with the press after signing their extensions. Did Montour have one? I don’t know if I missed it or what.

He went from 56 goals to 37 the next and then declined again before his knee injury.

Just watched Embedded on Youtube and then the next video was a World Junior preview. There's no way the Sabres don't let Cozens play for Canada, right? The NHL doesn't even start until afterwards.

Also, the US plays Russia on Christmas day this year.
