The Blue Jackets don't have a ton of RHD. Nor firepower. Im still thinking Nick Foligno would be an interesting addition. I know most are probably thinking they won't move their captain, but they haven't re-signed him either. Torts seems like a Risto truculence guy. Mitts + Risto for Foligno? Could play him at 3C. It would be another rental in all likelihood

Voting should be done in person. Voting by mail seems so open to many kinds of shenanigans. And even when it’s all aboveboard there is still easily raised specters of doubt when the loser cries foul. Soon many elections may wind up in court. Why would you put your ballot in a mailbox and hope it all works out when you can personally put it in the ballot box? Idk, if I were a Democrat worried about Trump trying to pull some poop with the mail-ins, then the last thing I’m doing is putting my ballot in the mail. Outside of those with medical or physical issues that prevent physically going to vote, it seems if your one vote to help choose who leads this country isn’t worth going in person, then it doesn’t seem as if it’s really that important to you.
who knows? the victory party could already be raging if all of the “entitled lefties” woulda gotten off their lazee azzes and voted in person

voting by mail has been done for years.
It has never been a problem until the current president said it was a problem.
The reason he was beating that dead horse is because history shows us Democrats vote by mail while republicans vote in person.

Why would you put your ballot in a pony satchel and hope it all works out when you can personally put it in the ballot box? Perhaps they were afraid of voting in person due to the pandemic we are currently living in ?

Food for thought.

That has a lot to do with it.
The amount of mail in votes were a large quantity. Larger than we have ever seen do to it.

most of those mail in voters though, lean Democrat.

I know it has, this year is just on a massively greater scale and a huge overload of ballots to count, due to the pandemic concerns. I still feel the same about voting, regardless of it having been done for years.
edit; guess I should add that this is just my personal opinion. I’m not saying mail in voting shouldn’t be allowed, just that I’d have a hard time trusting it fully.

That's it, the only problem I have with mail in voting, they should be able to start counting those votes all at the same time state wise.

they're expecting over 160M ballots to be cast this election or 67% of the voting-eligible population...that's the highest percentage since 1900 when they hit 73.7%...

that's a big win for the U.S.

I understand that those God-damned Whigs are up in arms about the methods by which the Know-Nothings raise money for their campaign war-chest. Well, what of it?, I initially thought; it's typical of those Whig bastards, smarting as they are from their defeat in the last election.

But, as I came to realize, if the Whigs have their way, the Know-Nothings would be forced to return their hard-won bounty, and leave Washington in disgrace. It would spell utter disaster!

Once, many years ago, one of those lousy Whigs invited Mrs. Zweibel and myself to a grand dinner and dance at his town-house in Boston. Not only was he an insufferable Brahmin-type who constantly had his needle-nose imbedded in a box of snuff, and served his guests a dish which looked like enormous boiled insect thoraxes, he also had the appalling nerve to seat me next to the editor of The Brickton Atlas-Trumpet, P. Oliver Gummidge!

Now, in those days, The Brickton Atlas-Trumpet was the hated arch-rival of The Onion, and a filthy Whig mouth-piece to boot. "Ah, glad you could make it, Zweibel," Gummidge said. "Delicious autumn weather they've been having up in Cape Cod. You should see the colors!" So incensed was I at these hostile and inflammatory words that I picked up a tureen of scalding mock-turtle soup and expelled the contents over Gummidge's bald head.

As Gummidge screamed in agony, I collected Mrs. Zweibel and boarded the carriage back to our hotel. How Mrs. Zweibel carried on so! "We'll never be accepted by polite society now!" she wailed. Her head was always filled with silly dreams of becoming a wealthy and respected matron, playing bridge with the Astors and acquiring Baroque art. But I refused to have her emulating the effete, prancing ways of the Whigs, even if it meant a reduced social status!

How I wish my old nurse did not confiscate the bowie-knife I kept under my bed-clothes, or I would board the next canal-barge to Washington and personally slit the throats of as many Whigs as I could find. That is the only way one can deal with Whiggery, and I implore all decent-thinking, true Americans to heed my urgent call to arms!

I like foligno alot. That would be a great veteran upgrade.
Foligno over any of tall tage, cozens or Casey.

Wonder if Casey and next years 1st protected gets it done. I'm willing to mortgage the future.

Celery would have to go the other way. Foligno makes $5.5 which is why I mentioned Risto. The only other candidate as I see it is Okposo
