Flames are not trading Hanifin for Montour who is 1 year from UFA.
Bennett is 24 years old, has lots of growth left in his game and very unlikely to be traded unless its a premium return.

There was a poster on another website that mentioned that there was talks with Calgary regarding a top 6 fwd and a goalie and one of our d-men going back to them in the package.

Apparently that same poster had the Botts firing the night before.

Obviously not Dahlen and I would be stunned if we had interest in Risto so maybe JOKIHARJU is involved in that rumor. No chance were giving up a top 6 forward for Montour or Miller! Could see Derek Ryan and Rittich being on the move from Calgary.

Makes more sense for the Calgary to use that cap hit on a RHD when Tanev inevitably misses time instead of on a 4C when they have Monahan-Backlund-Bennett down the middle already.

Derek Ryan would fit in well here as a 3C and pushes Eakin down to the 4th.

Sabres could realistically roll 4 lines and give the bottom 6 even minutes.

Montour gives the Flames a RHD they need.

Rittich is better than Hutton however you guys have Markstrom who is going to play most of the games anyways.
