Yes, they currently have $3.5 remaining, which doesn't include Mitts...so reduce that by $800 or so., bringing it down to about $2.7m.
It would be prudent to hold back some for:
- ELC Bonuses
- call ups
Using the $1.4m of last seasons Bonus as an estimate, it leaves them with about $1.3m in space...which is a decent amount to hold for callups.

They could get an additional $750k if they elect to eat only 50% of the Bo us Overage from last season and roll that I to next season...which would be an incredibly bad idea given the number of contracts needed for next off season.

I stand by my statement they absolutely need to shed salary to bring in a quality G or quality LhD.

I don’t think u understand what the word “need” means

Clearly you’re confusing “need” with “your preference”

I think they liked his floor tbh. There’s little chance Quinn is a total bust. He will score goals. That’s just what he does.

It was just a reach at 8

- sbroads24

In all seriousness....
how many games have u ACTUALLY WATCHED either guy play?

Ion learn that your interpretation is stupid and will need to be criticized and subject to any form of questioning Fitz decides. If you don’t understand take a stroll down Allen to get a good grasp on current society.

Agreed, no way they were giving away Girgensons $ to Simmonds. Had to be the last straw
- sbroads24

In all honesty, I think Girgensons got Kahun's money in this sense: they offered Kahun his cash, he balked and they said "alright, Girgensons is plan b"

I'm interested to see how much Soderberg signs for. I'm going to be pretty miffed if the Sabres could have gotten him for Eakin-or-less money

I don’t know what to think

They could’ve had Larsson+ Kahun for what Girgensons or Eakin got.

I’m just gonna pray they do something about goaltending, Ristolainen or Montour, Hall returns to MVP Hall, and Staal doesn’t hate his life for 6 months then retires

I don’t hate the worley and lee pickups.

Worley sucked on the cowboys. I get that. But remember tre white is the 1CB and Norman / Levi Wallace #2. Worley is nice depth

Cam freaking Lewis was horrible. Worley can’t be worse than that

- Sabretooth9

Yeah, I like the pick ups for depth, Taron Johnson hasn't been any better. Lee should help.

Hall and Eichel will help each other.

Staal will do just fine but I’d be weary of extending him.

Goaltending and the defence need work

Lol.
JC, clearly your inability to admit you are wrong gets in the way of logical, rational thinking.
You decided you don't like many posters and therefore simply take issue with their post no matter the stance.
Comical really.

Getting rid of a 6 time bankrupt, unable to obtain domestic loans? Moody's has the new guy rated leaps and bounds ahead of the current guy? That sign? I like it.
- GilPerreault11

yep. your so called "new guy" has an amazingly stellar track record over his 47 years in office. here's the stunning list of his accomplishments:

what a social justice warrior hes been too! wow.
where does anyone even begin?

the "old guy" took a good economy (18,500 at the previous administration's high point) and drove it straight into the ground (28,000)!!! THE HORROR!!!

Need to keep an eye on him, but he posted 47 pts in 66 games, which was a 58 pt pace playing 17:00 per night. Pretty, pretty good for 2nd line center here.
Good news is they can defer that decision until the offseason and see what both sides think.
If he is in that 50 -55 point range again it will be a tough decision if they also think Cozens can step into the 2C role soon thereafter. Another year of Staal under those circumstances would be great...but the Cap hit might be more significant in considering what to do.

I still disagree with your characterization of Girgensons as gritty. He tries and he makes a lot of sound when he misses checks, but he is in no way tuff

😀 I agree with your characterization of girgensons-
He tries hard, makes alot of sounds, big body, tuff to play against (defensively).

Showing up and trying is such a sad minimum, but that's where were at after 9 years of losing.
