yea it came out he wasn't just bullying that kid back in school, it was happening within the last 2 years as well - TPC
I think they probably were thinking hey we have no picks in the first 3 rounds this year, this kid would be a 2nd rounder without this controversy, lets take him and see if anyone notices

Honestly, in the Yotes situation, he's exactly the kind of pick they had to make. We did the same thing with Day and to lesser extents Buch and Duke. When you are desperate picking late like that, go ahead and swing for the fences. It's not like them having to cut him is any worse than an expected outcome for a 3rd rounder anyway.

Buch fell to us in the 3rd round? I don't remember that. Did the magnet stuff come to light at the wrong time???
There is a kid on there who was born in 2004!! That just makes me want a Metamucil chaser with my whiskey

Not my cup o' tea.
Even top shelf, single malts are like rubbing alcohol to me.
That being said, my brother brought out a couple bottles that I had never even heard of after dinner a few years ago... delicious!! But, these things had to be thousands of dollars a bottle.

I indulge in good beer and scotch on plenty of occasions, though there are times where the cheaper stuff is pretty much as good or better than the expensive stuff.
Not beer or whiskey, but there was a blind study done where wine snobs couldn't tell the difference between cheap and expensive things without being prompted. I can tell you I had Dom on one occasion and it was good, but it wasn't that much better than Korbel.
Some of the off brand irish whiskeys are among my favorites.

edit: Just saw that the Chicago White Sox have hired Tony LaRussa as their new manager, so now I feel rather young again!! - Tonybere
Shane Wright is the next "generational" player coming up. He'll be the top pick in 2022. We fortunately should not be anywhere close to a position to draft him, however.

I've been on the Tarmo bandwagon for awhile. The guy has serious skill and he could be one of those guys that can be a staple on our 2nd or 3rd pair for many years.

yeah it just depends on when he gets here, he could very well make the team this coming season, his rookie performance bonus is only 132K
he'll have the advantage of having played all year already, as opposed to fat ass Jack Johnson who's been sitting around eating Doritos
