Im a registered nurse that worked the COVID ICU at one of the NYC hospitals. If the rates were that high, the hospitals would be filling just as fast now as they did in March. Since this "spike" the number of inpatient COVID patients has held steady at between 20-25. No where near the 400+ we had in April. - aecliptic
New York has done a good job. The majority of the spike is not coming through hospitals you’d be working in.. quick google search will show you the hot zones |

Thank you for shedding some light on the situation from someone who is actually on the job, instead of the media’s continued doom and gloom reports. |

A bunch of the patients from those hot zones end up at my hospital. |

Im only talking about NY.
A lot of those smaller places, even 5 cases is a spike when compared to when it was at its peak and NY was getting hammered and these much smaller, rural towns didnt have much of anything happening. |

No one is saying there are record cases in New York, and that’s not what I was saying. There are record cases in the country as a whole, which is bad for a lot of things including pro sports. Call it doom and gloom media bs or whatever you want. Doesn’t change the reality. I’d love to goto a game but it’s just not likely to happen anytime soon.

the reality is if the aren't letting a single fan into outdoor Jets/Giants games, there couldn't be a thing more futile than complaining about them not letting people into indoor arenas

I think the point to take away is theyre planning to start the season in hopes to have some sort of attendence. That may be why theyre pushing back to February to give some extra time.
I think the hardest part will be the arenas organizing how they will allow for fans to enter and exit the building in a coordinated and safe fashion. I could see a situation where they may limit or not serve alcohol at all to prevent rowdiness. |

I see no reason a portion of fans shouldn't be allowed at Jet/Giant games with proper precautions. Same applies on a smaller scale to NHL games. |

I agree with that, I just think until that happens, and there seems to be no chance that is happening anytime soon, complaining about allowing a few thousand people to indoor events is a complete waste of time
but yeah, when I see the Jets playing in Kansas City where fans are scattered throughout the stadium, I think there's no reason it can't also go on at Met Life Stadium too, it's ridiculous |

That's right. LA has a gourgeous new stadium, it has had not one fan in attendance yet. Terrible. |
