Nice.
Better hope that carbon fibre seat post doesnt break, it will slice up your thighs.
If I'm doing features on the trails than I loosen the travel and recoil to absorb when landing, if not, then I decrease it so it doesnt impact momentum and slow me down.

driving a lazy-boy would make me wanna sleep.

It is a fast Lazy Boy. My Cane Creek rims allow me to hit crazy speeds and feel safe. 82 kms per is my fastest speed on my Speed O..

All my biking is done on roads, so it might be a bit of an overkill.

My wife has a sweeeeet hybrid that I regularly steal - it's got front shocks, and it does make a difference.

Do tell. I was probably 28 or 29 . . .I was doing the math . . . my mind was racing, "This is forever! Can I even have sex again?"

I mean that's a tough sell. "They say diamonds are forever, but so is herpes, baby."

She was gone for maybe 3-4 minutes and came back in all face shielded and gowned up. It was bizarre.

Does it have a place where you can put the TV remote?

I wouldn't shame people for going to restaurants. I am saying that we are in a situation where we can't take the risk ourselves.

I do think more protocols should be in place to ensure that indoor places are creating proper airflow and ventillation - not just moving indoor particles around, but ensuring that there is a dispersal method outside and a flow of fresh air from outside. It's a vague statement because it could be as simple as opening some windows or some doors, to adding a filtration system (which is much more expensive and is unlikely to be an option for most places - although it should be noted that just about every bar was perfectly capable of adding these types of systems when it meant they could create a smoking room for their patrons back in the 90s).

Places that simply can't do this should be eligible for full relief from the government, but probably shouldn't be open for indoor customers.

Part of the problem is that schools are not properly ventilated. Which, in Ontario has contributed to a lot of cases..

No, but it wasn't cheap. We had a group of us, all well over 45... It was fun until we began to have a few crashes... Big crashes..One of our friends had a bad one with many stitches..

I've actually been pleasantly surprised by how few cases there have been in schools.

The joke on our street on Labour Day was "enjoy having your kids back in school, because they are going to be home again by Thanksgiving."

I was chatting with my sports medicine guy back in March (seems like 1,000 years ago) - I was having some knee problems, he's a big biker, so we were talking about the possibility of me switching from running to biking.

I asked him if it was better for my body.

His reply was that he didn't think so, based upon the patients he sees.

But the difference is that runners have over-use injuries.

Bikers have injuries from crashes and falling off the bike.

I think I prefer the running injuries.

My left thumb will never be the same. But my knees and ankles are fantastic... poop happens in every sport you play. If you play hard.

We made it past Thanksgiving! We have our kids doing the remote learning - because it was an option, they are tech savvy (nerds), and because my wife and I are both working from home.

I mentioned before that the class my son was supposed to be in had a case of COVID and his entire class had to quarantine for 14 days. There were no other positive tests, so that was really surprising - it basically implies that the distancing and protocols in the school and classrooms are working. It's a newer school, though, so it does have decent airflow. My daughter's school is 100 years old and has no airflow.

Several of the parents of the kids in that class are now considering moving their kids into remote learning because it was a scare.

A couple of years ago, I signed up for 4-on-4 hockey on a 3/4 rink.

What I didn't realize when I signed up was it was basically non-stop turning and carving - just brutal on your hips and knees.

I think that's where all my problems with the knee started.

I was back on skates last weekend for the first time since March - ran a light practice, and my knees were killing afterwards.

Don't get old, Bixi. It's not worth it.

My kids are in school, and happy to be there. I get they impression they are sick of being stuck in the house and and are happy to be with their friends and peers, even with the limited cohorting measures in place. I too am pleased re the few school cases so far.

You can injure yourself on a poorly fitted bike even if you don't crash.

Do we know how many were spread through schools? Sick kid passes it on to others and it shows up unrelated to the school. It’s going to move around. Some things like schools are worth the risk.

I'm guessing they could come close to figuring that out through contract tracing.

But going through the anecdotal evidence of watching my kids' schools, each school has had 1 case only. That's a pretty good indication that the protocols are working, maybe?!?

Yes, I'm aware that the plural of anecdote is not data.

I like that article. Early on I had read a Japanese study that concluded much the same thing (opening a window) and showed particle movement and microdroplet movement and so on. I had also read a subsequent article that talked about viral particulant and how much was required for a person to likely become infected. This latter subject is a little out of my realm, but it largely broke it down as per your link - just talking, unmasked, you're probably at risk in around 5 minutes. Talking masked, it extends to maybe an hour, but if you're not distanced and are indoors, it's still a high risk. Those numbers move outwards as you apply more factors (ventillation, distance).

My problem is that I am not an outdoorsy person. As I got older I started developing more and more environmental allergies - granted October - April is usually fine. Of course my kids _also_ aren't fans of outside because of me, so . . . granted this is all stuff that drives my wife nuts. We do go for walks and such, but I will say this - I am NOT under any circumstances going snow shoeing. I remember doing that in Cubs when I was little and all I could think of was how much I wished I was dead.

I can see how it wouldnt be for everyone. I just cant walk, bike or hike much at all in the snow and I can only do so much treadmill to get my daily exercise.

We will give that a try
