He missed day 2 of coach Trotz first training camp as Islanders coach due to personal reasons and was sent down. I don’t think that’s doing the right thing or endearing yourself to the new coach. As we all know he missed his first day of training camp over sleeping the year before that. The story has always been the same with this kid unfortunately.

You are right.. you are all right on JHS. but....

If Josh had of done something really bad I would have said.. forget this clown. If he had of hit his GF, or thrown a drink at a women in a bar, or gotten a DUI where he got in an accident and took off.. if he was caught doing anything that I really had an issue with on a "this guy is a POS" level. I see immaturity from a pretty nice kid who has a ton of talent. Like I said he was really nice to a bunch of kids as he was leaving from a long practice. 90% of the kids waived and kept walking. He stopped, smiled, took a few pictures and appologized b/c he was really tired and has to leave... "good luck in your games guys.. have fun." ... it's a nothing story, but I like the kid. .... it's a very big long shot at this point.. I know.

But the 225k means he will be happy to play in B-port. So maybe that will get him to play so well he can't be ignored.

I just think he’s not that good of a player who doesn’t have what it takes to make it in the NHL. His personality is just another negative but not the real reason he’s not an NHL player.

Kabanov was a wasted pick. Petrov showed enough in camp and should have gotten a look on the third line when he finally got here that one year

I don't know if it was a total waste. Taking a shot in the 3rd round on a kid that was, at the time, said to have a pretty high skill level isn't so bad. The probability of landing a top-6 forward in the 3rd round is low.

If Ho Sang turns out to not be a viable option then I think you could make a stronger argument that picking him late in the 1st round was a bigger waste of a pick. I mean poop...they could've taken Brayden Point (not that I'm blaming them when he slipped all the way to the 3rd round, which is....astounding)

Point taken. If you're going to take a risk, it's not a bad idea to do it in the third round like that.

My Favorite thing about Petrov is when he finally got over here the Lil guy from Long Beach burried him with a hit and seperated his shoulder (Joey Diamond). I knoew Joey's Dad really well and even though Joey is short he is a really tough kid. So for him to have seperated the big "power forward" from Russia was a riot. Joey also had 2 goals in the prospect game that year.

Remember when Ben Shelley was exclusive to the Islanders Blog...Remember when we use to daily updates about the team and direction...

Now a days he writing about everyone but the Islanders...Boston needs a defensemen,
Left handed shot...I say send Aho to Boston for Debrusk. You get younger up front and cheaper. Heck add DeCole as a sweetener if it helps.

Move Ladd to LTIR
Trade Johny B and Second
Trade Leo and Second

Sign Barzal and Pullock.

Debrusk is an RFA... offer arbitration or one year deal. See how well he adapts. See were Cap is next year.
