If the NHL was smart (yea right with Bettman in charge) they would just contract whatever teams are financially dead now. Minimal exposure during this time and it gives them a season or 2 to get new ownerships in place. Do you really think anyone will care if Arizona is out of the league when it starts playing again?

SoCal obviously knows 0 about the long history of hockey in Portland. Just an ignoramus with a keyboard.

I’d love to see portland lay 4 beat downs on the canucks every year...complete losers they are!

What makes anyone think Quebec would be any better than say Florida or Arizona? They have already been forced to relocate from their once. If either Florida or Arizona had any sustained success they would find themselves with a new found fan base in a metro area 10 times the population and money of Quebec.

And Kansas City, where they have two sports teams and nobody cares about hockey is an even worse solution. Vegas worked because they were the only team in town, had immediate success, and have a ton of visitors that are actually saving money going to games as opposed to their other options.

Ha - I said the exact same thing on page 7.

Quebec has a better chance than Florida or AZ because it would be the ONLY game in town, and they are a hockey-mad population.

And QC won't need public money because they have an NHL ready rink already there.

Is QC a sure thing? No. But it's better than most of the options out there.

QC population: 550k + surrounding area

Houston population: 2.3 million + surrounding areas

Which do we choose for a team first? Oh yea, the city the league already left.

- gocanes0506

They choose the one with hockey fans and the only game in town. I don't disagree that Houston could be a solid spot but they are down the list

It's unfair to the people of Quebec to keep perpetuating this rumour. They couldn't sell barely ANY private boxes for a 1yr commitment, and they fall way short of season ticket commitments.

It's a very fun and exciting idea...but it's a fantasy.

not going to happen and you people keep getting their hopes up.
