how many seats are there usually for an outside game?
- Pat1993

well, depends. I'm basing it on a 20k stadium. like McGill or Saputo.
obviously a bigger stadium, like 50k, could see more fans attending

ohh right, so they wouldn't have to improvise a setup, they would use existing infrastructure instead... could make sense

I could see something a little crazy. You know how they created the bubble? And the idea of the "Canadian Conference"?

Canadian bubble city? Quebec City.

NHL holds socially distanced audiences in the home arenas, complete with staff and concessions. Crowd noises can be piped to the bubble city. This allows some revenue for the arenas and teams, and gives Quebec a leg up for the next expansion/relocated team.

Logistics would have to be taken into effect, but it could be done.

have to use common sense.
like for gyms. the one near by is a big ass gym. they can probably have up to 100 clients at the same time under normal circonstances. with covid, it they were to open on Thursday, I wouldn't have more than 5 or 6 customers at a time.
might as well keep them closed for now.

well I agree with what you're saying, but from 100 clients to 5 or 6 might be pushing it a bit...

not really. people are there for 1h, exercising... need space. lots of space.
it's not like a restaurant who could probably accept a greater % of clients imo.

not sure why this need for so much space... unless I'm missing something, social distancing and sanitary measures should be the same as everywhere

social distancing is good if you don't stay in the same place for more than 15 minutes, if you're outdoors, if you're not exercising... all factors which increase the risk. the virus stays in the air. you can be 30 feet from someone, if you're both there for 1h exercising... chances are it will get to you.

again, I don't see it riskier if social distance and sanitary measures are being applied, as I'm pretty sure the 6 feet was determined while factoring coughing and sneezing, which expulses a poop ton of air... of course you'd want more distance than normal in gyms, but I think you're exaggerating facts wayyyy too much

you only look at the 6 feet and forget about the time of exposition (gym often more than 15 mins no?) and the type of activites (again gym more risky than stores let say, no?)
I'm pretty sure if they felt it was safe, they would open gyms asap. don't you think?

I think they closed simply to be "consistent", as restaurant and bar owners would be pissed if gyms were allowed to re-open but not them....

I don't see that way.
I think they closed restaurants to limit social meetings. sending a message, stay home, in your bubble. not because it was dangerous by itself.
as for gyms, I think it's different, it really is a more risky place. imo.

oh sure, that's what I think. but I'm pretty positive Aruda doesn't make his decisions based on what I think.

well that comes back to our conversation earlier about the data (or lack thereof) showing which places are riskier

using common sense I have a hard time understanding why malls are still open then... I don't see it being "safer" there, and I don't see the logic, sorry.

that being said I won't be "protesting" at the gym either, (frank) that lol
