Well they want to Government to show the data they have that would make them super spreaders.
Their bet is that such data doesn't exist.
And they're not wrong.
This being said, the public health laws give extraordinary power to the state in case of a pandemic, I'm not sure the buisness owners can win their point in court.

yeah, filing a class action against the government sounds like a complete waste of time, especially in this context lol

well not having data for those specific places doesn't necessarily mean they're completely safe, it just could be that the data is insufficient or virtually inexistent (in which case I agree it still doesn't look that good since those places were still asked to close lol) |

and even then, it'll take a while between distributing the vaccine to everyone and reaching a safer context to have bigger gatherings

I could see something a little crazy. You know how they created the bubble? And the idea of the "Canadian Conference"?
Canadian bubble city? Quebec City.
NHL holds socially distanced audiences in the home arenas, complete with staff and concessions. Crowd noises can be piped to the bubble city. This allows some revenue for the arenas and teams, and gives Quebec a leg up for the next expansion/relocated team.
Logistics would have to be taken into effect, but it could be done. |
