Looks like Dmitri Zlodeyev has made the jump from MHL to pro in the VHL and probably wont be going back to MHL. He's doing well with 4g/8pts in 10 games already. He'll be with Podz at the U20 thingy in Finland as well I am hearing.

It'll be nice to see them get some quality time in at those games

I'd be down if we could move out a couple over priced vets...so...seems pretty unlikely that he'd end up here.

I could see Nashville or CBJ.

Exactly. He's not coming here unless we move Sutter or LE. So, he's not coming here.

Here's some light on what's going on with Podkolzin's game in the KHL.

https://canucksarmy.com/2...LabLAmi1n-cFVehdQMCpQZlww

You can put the idea aside that he's not been given a chance because he's bound for the NHL. His 4rth line mates are drafted kids as well and are doing better and not getting scratched... in fact, Marchenko has been rewarded with top line ice time.

Podz' play crashed after his first 8 games where he wasnt on the ice for any goals. It completely reversed. He's sitting because his play had been going downhill. His last game was his worse of the season. Two scratched since. He'll be in Finland for the U20 tourney in 2 weeks. He should come back with some momentum after that.

Slumps happen. Though the coach who played him in hot start was away on Covid during scratches. Curious why the other sub coaches decided to not let him play through it.

Need an NHL start date and AHL season confirmation to deal with LE and LTIR Ferland. Cap dump trades are way to costly to consider at this point.

I don't know but his young line mates who are on the ice for those goals against as well are not getting the same treatment. Why is Podz the whipping boy? Are the coaches seeing him as responsible in some way? Morozov is a C so maybe they cant afford to scratch him and now Marchenko is getting rewarded with 1st line duty so his game is doing well...

Podz 2nd game scratched was their worse game of the season so he should be back in the line up you'd hope.

You are aware that both are older than Podzolkin and signed to longer term KHL deals? True or not it's been widely reported that KHL teams tend to spend more time developing players who commit to staying the KHL.

Podzolkin declined signing an extension last year around this time I believe.

The Podzolkin pick was always going to require patience, I have no idea if he'll hit his ceiling but he's still a very well regarded prospect by most pundits.

Pretty sure Morozov and Marchenko have committed to playing (ie are under contract) for the next two seasons.

Podz has been pretty vocal about heading to the nhl ASAP. Seems like punishment for not extending with SKA.

Podk wants to play with the Canucks ASAP. Too bad they can't just work something out with the KHL to get him over here when the season starts.

Can’t crack KHL roster = ready to play for a playoff NHL team. Ok. I think some folks don’t realize just how sh!tty the KHL is

So you are saying the GM is telling the coach to do this? Because any coach will play who he thinks will give them best shot at a win otherwise. What kind of coach or GM would choose punishing a 19 year old over the best chance at winning? Over a business decision that has no effect on the current season. I don't buy it. Not at all.

You said "likely a coach issue" about this post in the last thread.

I feels to me that the coach for Ska wants to see more than just hustle out there. Scratches are a clear message in any league. "You have to do more".

Those that hate the pick will slag Podz until he gets here. Then he can show more on a team and ice surface that has a role better suited for his type of play and skill set.
