you seem pretty familiar with launches, I have no clue what SRBs are lol... but it must be pretty cool to witness in real life

Without fans in arenas, NHL will be in the hole by over $1B.... so, what is the point of a season if you are going to bankrupt a bunch of teams? Yeah, many of us think there are maybe too many teams as it is now, but that is not the solution.

the website was built on lies with such a lack of transparency that the guy had to wear a mask. i wouldn't hold your breath waiting for an explanation.

we don't know if they will return to play

we don't what they will do when a bubble has an outbreak

we don't know how they can play game seven of the final if a star player gets sick

All concerns that were meaningless in the end

does this mean they'd lose less money by not playing at all?

How can they play a full season with no fans? Most of the money come from butts in the seats. Not from tv revenues. Others leagues might pull it off (and even then), but the NHL?

I'll have so side with Mashadar on that one.

They have that thick plume, unlike most liquid rocket fuel exhaust. And in the dark that thick plume gets lit-up real nice under the rocket:

And here is a video some dude took of STS-131 (which launched before dawn) from the Saturn V visitor center (about the same distance as viewing from the causeway):

You can find many more launches on YouTube in HD, but most of them are recordings of the NASA broadcasts, which have much closer camera views. The one linked above is purely from a spectator's personal experience.

Even if they do 48 games or whatever, how will that work out from a business point of view?

How did the league not fold from past stoppages from labor issues?

I'm not sure if they already depleted it because of the pandemic, but the league has a collective emergency fund meant for these thinds. Not sure how it's shared amongst the teams, or if teams have their own emergency funds (they're be dumb not to).

well that's what I was kinda wondering, the financial impact of playing with empty seats VS canceling the whole season

not sure how much there is in that emergency fund, I wasn't under the impression it was important enough to maintain the league "alive"
