nor given a chance, just cut him loose

seems a good time to reach out to him and give him help

this is the country of second chances and they just outed him

- homiedclown

Second chances are earned, not given.

Hell this kid hasn’t even apologized to the victim...

I believe in second chances but I also believe they shouldn’t be handed out just because. Show you are at least deserving of a second chance.

If he publicly apologizes now, is anybody going to believe that the motivation is anything other than self-benefit?
- buffalofan19

nope

yotes could have given him help
nhl could have given him help

he's an 18 year old that made mistakes when he was in middle school

bills found out as everyone else did about josh allen right before the draft and didn't stop them from embracing him and giving him any help he needed

and of course allen was much older

If you think the ship has sailed because management is determined to play both Rieder and Thompson regularly, and have Cozens as a top six RW, then agreed.

But if the team is not gifting a spot to Tage nor planning on playing Rider regularly, then why not bring back Kahun at the $.9M you just estimated?

A 3rd line that has Olofsson and Kahun on the wings, for example is a hell of a lot better and more proven than a 3rd line that contains Tage.

- kingcong39

Agreed 110%
Ka-Boom would push Girgs down to that 4th line spot as well.

Hall - Eichel - Cozens/Olofsson
Skinner - Staal - Olofsson/Cozens
Ka-BOOM - Eakin - Reinhart
Girgensons/Reider - Lazar - Okposso
Reider/Girgensons

That could be a lot of fun to watch

Allen posted rap song lyrics and a quote from Modern Family. Two way different things...and he was a high school freshmen.

have you apologized for everyone you wronged in middle school?

my guess is at least 98 percent of the people on hockeybuzz has not

yotes didn't offer him help
nhl didn't offer him help

story broke and they cut him loose

not gonna argue with you, my post said more then enough

- homiedclown

Again @ 16 and just now 18 years old.

Not gonna argue, but felt it was fair to correct the age of "14" in question

Does "he just 16" sound worse ?

👍this is more reasonable. Before you were standing by your statements.

If it were the a 180 senario, what should have Arizona told the season ticket holders who may have wanted to cancel?

Were gonna stand pat, and take the financial hit, because we dont want our pr department to be shamed?

- Boss34

I still stand by my argument, which was: if they knew about the situation, did their homework on the situation, and decided to move forward and draft him, then I wasn't going to criticize. I never once said that the kid did or didn't deserve a 2nd chance. It wasn't about that. My problem was with the people wagging their finger at the Arizona Coyotes saying "how dare they!" when we have no idea what went into the decision to draft in the first place.

Now, if other facts came to light after the draft, then I don't have a problem with cutting ties. Perhaps the kid lies about apologizing to the family. However, if the article didn't state anything they didn't already know, then shame on them for cowering to the mob. We still don't know which scenario is true, and probably never will.

I didn’t torment a disabled kid daily for years either and have to go to court for it.

There’s one thing of being bullied and doing bullying yourself as a kid in school. We’ve all been there and done that and if you deny it you’re lying. But 98% of us didn’t have to go to court and have charged pressed against us for it either.

the yotes are a multi million dollar franchise
the nhl is a billion dollar franchise

could have been handled better IMO by both the NHL and the yotes

and of course Miller

I could predict the people on here who would stand up for the kid who bullied and abused the Black and cognitively disabled kid. Like clockwork.
- GilPerreault11

This is a carry - over from yesterday

Same posters, now wrong about the Coyotes and what a great well thought out minority ownership descion it was to draft this kid.

Now - cancel culture and upset about "how the decision " was forced on the by the mob.

Any human being with common decency would have walked from this arguement, but here we are ....

Last night I was leaning more on homie and buff19’s side but I didn’t know enough to really weigh in.

After reading for about it, I really think the only thing Miller is remorseful for is that he got caught.

There’s 31 other teams he can sign with if he shows real growth and remorse.

If he becomes a drug addict it’s because again he makes poor life choices and doesn’t own up to his mistakes.

I really think we all have that one moment in life that defines where we will head as a person. Mine was when I was in high school. My cousin and I got into stuff we shouldn’t have. He went one way I went the other after it all went down. I turned out alright (for the most part) my cousin ODed 4 years ago.

This is Miller’s moment

of course that is all he is remorseful at this point

he's not under nhl contract, the the yotes instead of giving him help tossed him to the curb

a billion dollar industry throws him to the streets yet the nfl, nba, mlb give their millionaires tools to get better

He can still play hockey. He can still make the show. He just has to atone for what he did and this is part of it. Growing up means learning your actions have consequences

Allen was 15 or 16? Hardly much older.

Sent out a tweet or 2 quoting a tv show and used some terrible words , not even directed to hurt anyone in particular. Nothing physical or deranged.

Miller pissed on a lollipop and had a handicapped kid eat it. He physically abused him for 4 years. Beat him up.

I'm guessing you've overcame some obstacles in life?
Nothing wrong with it... in most cases.

Should a rapist get a second chance to live next store to your sister? Should we let the internet mob decide?

2nd changes need to be earned not given. And certainly. Some people never earn a second chance.

Kid did this from 2nd -8th grade and possibly again was taunting him again in 10th grade? 6 -8 years worth.

No remorse, but GIVE, not let him earn that 2nd chance right?

But, cancel culture is what really gets you upset, not pissing on a lollipop and tricking someone handicapped into eating it.

Your the best mental ...

Ask you boy Killer Cuomo and the Demo Mob, his Bail Reform is essentially doing exactly that!

Cowering to the mob ?

Making a financial business decision must likely. They clearly would take a financial hit.

I would cancel all of my seats if the Sabres drafted this kid. (frank) them. I know %100 he was not on our list.

I'm wondering that if Allen's misdeed came about the night before the 2020 Draft with all the social unrest, cancel culture Antifa ...what would have happened?
