If this guy committed these acts on your little brother , younger cousin, son you would you feel this way?

I pray to God I would eventually accept it. Cancel culture won't change the past.

The Cowboys are willing to listen to offers for a trio of newcomers who have not fit in defensively, league sources tell CowboysSI.com, with defensive linemen Everson Griffen and Dontari Poe and cornerback Daryl Worley in the Nov. 3 deadline spotlight.

Poe please! Make a call Bean!!!!

"A head scout for one team said once they dug into Miller’s story, they immediately scratched him off their draft list.

“We would not have taken him after the background checks our USA guys did on him,” he said. “We always say when we draft somebody, we want somebody at our table who’s really excited about drafting the guy and nobody from our U.S. staff wanted anything to do with this guy, so we just took him off our list. He’s a decent player, but all the background and history on him said red flag.”

Hope this was the Sabres head scout

I'm going to guess it was a lot more than one team that had him off their list.

And they have every right to do that without criticism. Just as the Coyotes do for saying "we looked into it, did our due diligence with him, and decided to move forward with him."

Cancel culture doesn't come from the league. It comes from the thin-skinned Twitter mob that loves to grandstand and throw a virtue signaling temper tantrum whenever they can.

So what?

Teams crossed Josh Allen off their list for his "insensitive" Twitter comments in high school.

Completely different then beating up a disabled kid and consistently badgering him because of his race and calling him derogatory terms.

There is a difference between a private entity having a "right" to do something and whether choosing to do something is ethically and morally correct; especially if they are espousing to be promoters of the opposite of what they are choosing to do; in this case, their racial justice program while picking a player who was charged and convicted of bullying a special needs, minority kid repeatedly.

We have the right to criticize, their fans have the right to criticize facilitated by the media who have the right to criticize as per our 1st amendment rights and they knew they were going get the heat and decided drafting the player was worth it. So, let them take the heat.

Sure, it's worse, but that's not the same as saying "some teams crossed him off their list, therefore all 31 teams have a moral obligation to do so." They don't.

He could be drafted in the 6th or 7th round, drafted in next years draft after he shows he's not still the total punk he was. Have his past actions cost him a few bucks.

Humans make mistakes. This was repeated.

How does one find themselves on hockeybuzz at 11 pm defending this kid?

Tough hill to die on , supporting the actions of a habitual bully racist .

I'm not defending the kid. I'm defending the Coyotes, or rather giving them the benefit of the doubt that they did their homework on him, especially given that they're the only team in the league that is both minority owned and minority run, in a sport that is more white dominated than any other in North America by a mile.

Did I miss the part where the owner is mentally challenged? Handicapped?

This seems a little deeper than overlooking a race issue?

I would think a minority owner would be more sensitive to the issue. In other words, I would think he and his brass would dot his i's and cross his t's with him before being giving the green light. We don't know what conversations they had with the kid, others familiar to the issue, his coaches, etc.

At the end of the day, we're talking about a guy drafted in the 4th round. The odds of him making it to the show are minimal to begin with.

This one is tough.

What he did is absolutely awful. But it’s also not a life sentence.
