Kuemper I’d better, less injury prone and cheaper than Bishop anyway

Ullmark is as good as gone:

1.35 last year and did not play well

Knox positive for Covid.

Lee Smith, Nate Becker and Knox and Sweeney all on Covid list.

Let’s not forget they chose to play Bogosian over him too. So in their minds Miller was the 5th RD and in all reality was their 2nd best

Which leaves my faith meter in Ralph pretty low

In hindsight it looks like they were showcasing the 2020 Cup-winning d-man

Yeah looks like they brought up Devey from the practice squad. Actually half the practice squad seems like there being brought up.

The best advice I can give and I’ve learned from this site is, if you want to give it be prepared to take it.
Sometimes you are the windshield and sometimes the bug

Paraphrasing Peter Gabriel from Lamb Lies Down on Broadway.

Me, I'm just a lawnmower; you can tell by the way I walk.

Good question:
I think they agree on 2.5 or the Sabres let him walk.
Maybe 2.75

I'm not sold on ullmark as a 1a or 1b.
Seems like at 3 million, you can get kuemper or raanta?
Both better "next year" goalies

Hate to give up on ullmark as well.
Young guy, goalies take some time to develop. Hasn't been terrible or great
Lost will carrier to avoid Vegas protection list.
Invested time and talent

What are you thinking?

Ralph was Probably some "showcasing " bogo as well?

Let other teams see his game in person?
Ralph may have already been easing into his current coach/gm/hockey op position. 🤔

Hilarious to say bogo and showcasing in the same sentence 🙂

Suprising that the Simmonds, vesey, bogo 2020 vs. 2021 leaf salaries are 10 million apart. Suprising: it's not discussed, they all suck so it's not surprising they signed cheap.

hes really not bad. if the number comes back like you said..... keep him for a year or two more.

in reality we lost a 5th rd pick in expansion to "keep" him. vegas might have taken carrier anyways and just fleeced us for the pick.

Good points.

You hate to give up on a quality prospect at a position of need. We have 6k waiting for 2022 most likely.
I'm holding at 2.5- 2.75 for one year. I'm not gonna ka-boo-hoo-hun or be a weepensons @ 3 million.

I still believe the single easiest "point" upgrade for the Sabres would be to upgrade goaltending or system or eye site?

Cant wait to hear what they offered sam and what his self worth is? Sure its night and day.

Letting him walk won't be an option, unless the arb award is even higher than he asked.

Not a big fan of his, but he's been our starter and most likely will be this year as well. Hard to argue he shouldn't be paid accordingly. He's UFA next year, if he winds up on a 1 year deal.

I think he's looking at a 3.3-3.5 arb ruling. Is he better off going that route and hitting UFA, or taking a little less on a 2 year deal? Tough call. Guess I'd say 2 years @ 3m is most likely, give or take.

Guessing the most extreme is a 3m difference. 5.4m (Teravainen) and 8.4m (Aho).

I really dont think Bogo was really ready to p,at when he came back...he played a relatively lightweight game for him.
5 months off to recover and build strength/conditioning...he looked completely different, back to his normal style.

The Bogo cycle

1.) Hurt
2.) 10 games to get back to game speed
3.) 20 decent games
4). Hurt
