I get bored sometimes with the Canadian broadcast and enjoy switching it up with the NBC broadcast...also the NHL package allows us to view a lot of different broadcasts as well. If the games on NBC...it’s never blacked out.
- landros 2

Yeah. I watched emrick either on the nbc feed or centre ice. Sportsnet and CBC rarely had the flyers on.

How are games split between CBC and Sportsnet? Are there NBC broadcasts available for games on the latter?
- PT21

Rogers owns Sportsnet and have games on Saturday, sometime 5-6 different games on different channels...if the games aren’t on NBC national channel, then they are picked up on the sportsnet or the Center ice package....Sportnet has 4 0r 5 different regional channels that pick up a lot of the Canadian teams games.

Spending half my time in Milton and half in North Jersey I had to get creative.
My cable in Jersey has MSG so Rags, Isles and Devs. Got NHL package. Flyers were blacked out. Had to get VPN to stream Flyers in Jersey. I also used it in Canada while there. In the states I got NBC and NBCSN. In Canada we only get NBC. I could stream NHL network on my US phone but not my US tablet or laptop using the Canada Ip address.
My phone drops calls at the border switching from Rogers to AT&T. Utube music has to reset.

Interesting comparison. I have a bit of experience. I'm an old (frank). First trip to Canada was mid 60s to the falls. At the falls again in 69 on a camping trip that passed through Algonquin. Actually watched the first lunar landing on a 13" tv in the laundry at the falls.
Camped a bunch in Quebec.
Then not til 2 tears ago. Spent half my time here cause you won't let me stay more than half a year. My doctors are here. I pay cash, cheaper than using MEDICARE, which covers none of my needs.
I came up the last time March 15th. They closed the border 3 days later. I've been here since. I can't leave til the border is FULLY open both ways. I can't afford my meds in the states. I stay with friends. We've been in discussions. At this point looks like I'm staying put. I have multiple under lying conditions. As do the other 2 people I stay with. Super careful. Guess what? No one us freaking sick here.
I was staying North Jersey. Pretty much more cases and more deaths in Jersey than all if Canada. I can't go back. I'll freaking die.
I don't see a huge difference in the cultures. We say Canada is the home if the nice white people. I try to fit in. I love it here. I have few friends left and virtually no family. I'm living with my 2 best friends left. I'm good here. If I never make it back I'm ok with that. I really don't feel much difference. My main reason would be to travel through areas I haven't seen yet. A lot if Canada i haven't seen too. It's a great big beautiful country full of good people.
Oh, BTW, the Hockey Hall is coming up next few weeks. Bucket list. I'm in Milton, an hour or so away. I don't move to well any more but I still move. The liberal cannabis laws are good for my neuropathy. My sanity too.
As Yakov Smirnoff used to say, "what a country".
Thanks for having me.

My dad had to come back just before they closed the border in March...didn’t want to get stuck in Myrtle Beach in case he got sick. I have friends in government that are suggesting April before land borders are open. We’ve been lucky here so far with the covid issues...but the numbers are going up again. The Hockey Hall of fame is a must see. Canada does have a lot to see but so does the US. The government kinda screwed up the opening of the weed stores, but they’ll eventually get it right....lol. Considering the closures at the border I think the customs will probably be ok with your over stay... I had a buddy that stayed until last week in Arizona (9 months) and they said that with the circumstances he was ok.

I dont fully understand why you cannot use a VPN to watch tv in any country. I use Tunnelbear and can watch all the blocked out content in TSN.

You can tell me what you found jarring about my posts.

The long posts, the superiority complex, the "politics" and the intolerance of fools has already been covered in ample measure, so you can tell me if I have other flaws as well the ones mentioned.

All in good cheer. I wont take it personally.🤗

Interesting how many of you Canadians have worked in a farm. Wonder if that contributes to the lack of political polarization in your country compared to ours.

I feel in this country we are leading increasingly parallel lives. We should be sending college kids from urban areas to farms instead of sending them to do study abroad programs. The cultural distance is just as high, and the learning value is probably higher.

- PT21

You have no clue. There is a high level of political polarization in Canada.

I am sorry to read about this. Based on things you wrote here, and your username, that's not considered old today. That's middle aged Just a few years older than the average age here, I believe.

Our President and challenger are deep in their seventies. Our speaker is 80.

So cheer up, buddy. And all the good vibes I can muster go to you.

Maybe in your mind? All the data says otherwise.

I suspected as much when you last emerged from the woodwork months ago.

EDIT: But I would love to be enlightened, and imbibe some of the careful consideration skills you found lacking in our last rodeo. Currently though, its Netflix time, so departing for now.

My willingness to withhold my words does not mean they should carry less weight. Of course, someone who posts dozens of times a day just on this forum alone, many times off of the topic, wouldn't understand that concept.

I also live in and vote in the country you're talking about flippantly. Withholding your opinions when you don't actually know what you're talking about, or who you're actually engaging with would show wisdom. Strangely, you still don't get that.

Consider the absurdity f your first sentence. How could your words carry any weight at all if they are never uttered?

Re: living in the country etc, sure. That does carry some weight. But in today's age, we are long past the measure of personal experience being a decider.

In other words, drop the passive aggressiveness and say something if you have something substantive. I am willing to learn.

Will read later.

I was trying, unsuccessfully apparently, to make a joke. MJL said nobody on a sports board is jarred by someone being logical. So I said I often find your posts jarring just to contradict him. Just amusing myself I guess.

I watched the damn show and you are still whining about nothing.

My original post was that there is less polarization in Canadian politics compared to the US. . It was a comparison.

Should I disqualify you from the debate because, by your logic, you only happen to live in one of the two?

I follow politics around the world. If a Pole tells me, in light of the disaster that happened in the last election, that his country is not polarized, should I believe him merely because he is geographically situated there, over every reputable source of news? If a Brit tells me, that Labour is still as strong in the north as it was before Corbyn, should I believe him simoly because he is a national of the country? If An Aussie tells me that the Aborigines encounter no racism down under, should I believe him just because he happens to live there?

The relative lack of polarization is apparent simply by reading political platforms. I have followed Canadian politics for 30+ years. And I find the polarization significantly less.

Now, nevermind the comparison. You are not going to win that argument because there us too much evidence to the contrary.

So, educate me about political polarization in Canada in absolute terms beyond the obvious that drew you to post (the rural-urban, town-gown, liberal conservative,dometic-foreigner, race-color schism is there in every country and has been there for ages).

I only brought up citizenship as a base level rebuttal to your assertions of unnamed, unsubstantiated, and unvetted as of yet, "data". Of course study can teach anyone on any subject matter. Your assertion, with or without data, is flawed in reality. The fact you don't get that, means you have not understood enough, or don't live it, or both.

The wealth of knowledge and insight here supporting your original point about Canada, is insurmountable as usual, only to you. As usual, PMs or writing your own blog are the best choice.

I guess by the fact you remember an earlier discourse from some time ago, and are rebutting this one, means that my few words have some weight.
