Marky Mark was the MVP... Lucky to get in. So the 1st is more valuable as a lottery pick. Any team wanting a lottery pick should be interested. I would expect Detroit to bite at some point. Just wait out the market until they take the 1st as the bait, or stick with what you got.

It's not like we have a couple of plugs in net. One has a cup ring and the other is one of the best young tenders in the game. And I would take Nate Schmitd's skating and puck moving skills ahead of Tanev's 60 games a year any day of the week. Don't tell me the Flames are light years ahead of the Nucks in skill because from where I see it. The two teams are pretty even. Your defense core may be better all around but we have a pretty special kid in Hughes who can and will be a game changer for many years to come.

Haha you guys weren't even in a wildcard spot. You were 2-3 in your final 5 games. Now you lost your MVP Marky who was the only reason you were even sniffing the wildcard, you lost 25+ goals in Toffoli. Nucks finish 4th in the div next year.

Even with that, Rittich still had equal or better stats than Holtby. Markstrom was better. So you have downgraded on the starter and swapped a RD for a LD.

The point is that the Flames underachieved last year and the Nucks overachieved by most analysts. Similar results in one year does not make them near even. Doesn't mean the Nucks are not improving, but you can't just look at one year and say they are that good overall.
