I think RW is really awesome and really cool. I would definitely never say anything bad about him that would result in a 2 week ban.

Unless POJ stands out in camp I can't see any logical reason why they would do this.
- Rinosaur

They'd probably still go 9 D like last year. I think if ZAR goes on LTIR they only have 12 forwards that wouldn't need waivers.

Sort of side note, but a recent Pensburgh article had Poulin listed at RW in an article of prospects with the best chance to play in Pittsburgh this year. So I'm hoping he can play there because I think it's only Rodriques he'd have to beat out (who could then compete at center).

I wonder how the juniors schedule lines up with the NHL one this year? Might be possible for prospects to join after their season ends even if they don't make the initial team.

Yeah, I'm just saying I don't think they'll move Riikola unless POJ is ready. They have NOTHING in the way of a competent LD in WBS right now.

Yeah, I've read conflicting reports on which side he's strongest on.

EDIT: I don't know that Juniors are going to happen, or the AHL for that matter. I'm wondering if the NHL is going to make some kind of change to allow teams to keep non-roster players to stay up with the big club and be able to practice with the teams.

Let's talk trade deadline... yes I'm serious even though the season has started yet. I think chances are very strong the Pens will need to acquire a 3C. The Pens also have practically no picks in the 2021 draft. They pick 2nd, 5th and 7th(3 picks), so with 2021 looking to be a weak draft, I'm sure that 2nd is basically gone already. Here are some of the rentals that I think will be available:

Getzlaf
Stepan
Zajac
Anisimov
Johannson
Sutter
Bonino
Z.Smith
Janmark

Mind you, I'm not saying these are guys the Pens SHOULD go after. I'm just listing the likely available, better quality (relatively speaking) players.

I could honestly see the Pens going after any of those players. They're clearly not all worth a 2nd, but I could see JR having interest for one reason or another.

Getzlaf is the more interesting name on that list to me and obviously with serious salary retention will likely be one of the more sought after rentals at the deadline.

Yeah how do you get banned so frequently without getting the permanent ax.
- Victoro311

I once got a 6 month ban for wishing Richard cancer upon someone but that was years ago.

Aussie was, in my opinion, the absolute stupidest and most annoying poster in this board's history and I'm thankful for that ban. But beyond cluttering the board with stupid comments, I'm not sure what he did that was lifetime ban worthy. Feds, on the other hand, well the list is long.

Ok gotcha. They aren't much better on the right. Trotman v Czurczman for vet call-ups so I guess edge to right though hopefully neither play.

The conflict as best I understand is Poulin was drafted as a LW. He may have played RW this season based on the highlights I saw and reports from some sites I've never heard if, but I've never been able to confirm it.

Juniors already started playing, though some teams like Poulin's had to shut down due to covid outbreaks. That's what I mean, with the NHL's late start, they might be done well before the NHL season.

Ah ok. I wasn't aware. I know the AHL season may not be happening, but I figured juniors were in the same boat.

I do think the NHL is going to allow teams to some degree to have non-roster players with the team. I don't think they'll have a choice. Obviously same call-up rules apply, but I don't see how they can avoid allow teams to do this.

Getzlaf has repeatedly said he doesn't want to move his family and has a NMC. Could change his mind, but for now he's off the table.

Zajac and Bonino are probably 1-2 for me off that list. We'll see what happens though. This team might have bigger holes to fill.

Yeah, AHL is questionable. They might have to do something like expanded rosters or a development bubble.

EDIT they have a lot to work out about a return to play. Don't think Canada is interested in opening the borders with the US.

Yeah, he said that frequently, but in the last year of his contract and for only a few months I could see him waiving for one run and circling back. Obviously his move would be temporary wherever he goes and wouldn't have to uproot his family. This is also far from the first time a player in his situation has uttered that same sentiment and uttered it frequently.

And yes, with unforeseen injuries, etc..., there could obviously be bigger needs at the deadline.

Yeah Canada is too soft. They will keep their borders closed until 2024.

I would’ve liked to see Sid and Geno in the 95 alternates. I know that’s a controversial jersey but love it or hate it it got you talking

Just randomly saw that only some junior leagues were playing, not all of them, so I was wrong. I was only really paying attention to the Q since that's where Poulin and Legare play.

The Q was the only chl team playing that I saw. They also shut down a few days ago too I believe.

Are those the (frank)ing ones with grey and the lines?! If so they are the worst Jersey in pens history.
