I saw the blog say "Brown in Play" with the image of a Kings player and thought you were suggesting Dustin Brown was in play. I came here to shoot that down.

My mistake, carry on.

That's exactly what I thought too...

FWIW... The Quote Button when used on Eklund's Blog does not function when you enter from the bottom, you must enter from the top, before the first paragraph. I learned this the hard way, and Eklund directed me on how to quote... I guess they cannot correct the bug, which I believe has been here since they changed Platforms.

My workaround to quote a post

1. Click on the Flag (upper right corner) of the post you want to quote
2. Click the quote (") icon
3. Post your message with original post shown

Maybe Doc was the best guy in the world, I don’t know, but I’m happy that I’ll be able to turn the sound back on when watching hockey now.

Agree on Doc. Loved listening to him. Not all Canadian announcers are homers tho. There is some disgusting homers in the league. Boston has one. Pittsburgh has one and on and on

Technically not true. There's no problem with the quote button. The problem is with the URL. If you click into the forum from the bottom, you'll get an extra quote mark at the end of the URL in the location bar. So for this blog, it will say

at the end of the URL. In order to get the quote functionality to work, just delete the quote from the end of the URL and press enter to refresh the page. So it should look like this instead:

Then hit the quote button and it will work correctly.

I was basically instructing/assisting on quoting... I was trying to relate what you said, not trying to place the blame on the button itself--The explanation I gave pretty much stated the problem being the LINK--I apparently did help at least one person who followed my instructions, but I do thank you for correcting my explanation with the nuts and bolts of the mechanics of the problem. I thought it was obvious that the Link was the blame rather than the button, but now there shouldn't be any ambiguity.

Good to know if you entered from the bottom, thanks. That said, if people enter from the top link they need only click the right quote button; a one step process. As john Lennon once wrote, "Whatever gets you through the night..is alright".

CNN: After 47 years, Mike "Doc" Emrick, is stepping away from the broadcasting booth. Emrick, 74, has served as the lead play-by-play voice for the NHL on NBC for the last 15 years and is considered the preeminent voice of the league.

I've never heard of this guy until today. I went to youtube just to hear his voice to see if I even recognize it.

I find a lot of play-by-play guys in the USA annoying. I'm not sure I could get excited listening to his nasally, monotone voice (at least it was in the couple videos I watched).

That being said, he's WAYYYY better than those homers in Boston and Buffalo!

Doc was ok but I think Gary Thorne and even John Forsland is better.

....I feel this is the sort of blog I have to shut up or else I'm seen as ignorant, out of touch etc

Yeah.. I hear ya. Good on him for having that kind of career longevity. Personally I found his broadcasts to be unlistenable.

Sorry, I didn't mean to seem like I was attacking your post. Just describing what the actual problem was and how to fix it without having to navigate back and forth around the website.

Doc was the best ever! Now John Forslund takes over as the BEST, and it's not even close!
Carolina fans really miss him. His replacement isn't bad, but in comparison Johnny is the BOMB!

Forslund has NO PERSONALITY. It should be Gord Miller or Brendan Burke

Seriously asking, How’s Logan Brown doing for the Sens?

(Edited since some idiots think I’m trolling?)

- arichardson22

He's a little bit behind where we hoped he would be. He has had AHL success, but hasn't done much in his limited NHL stints. But there's still a good chance for him. The general feeling in Ottawa is give him some legit wingers to play with in a top 6 role, and he might begin to blossom.
