Please tell Pres.Cup and Marwood the hyperbole hate bandwagon has been incinerated by an absolute 3D chess move by JB.

My faith is restored, next season I'm still worried about the cap, but backreading made me out to feel as dumb as i sound...

If Jake goes to arbitration the Canucks get a 2nd buyout window, so I would expect they get rid of Sven and probably 1 other player.

Out Markstrom Tanev Toffoli
In Holtby Schmidt Hoglander

I can live with that

Mince in prospects slowly during a condensed season & season them.

- Nighthawk

Dump Sutter on someone and sign a top 6 forward or trade for Ione from a team in a cap hell

Haula is out there but they'd have to shed cap to afford him. He's an offensive minded center though, not a PK or shutdown type type

Latest lineup maybe?

- Nighthawk

Banking on 3 rookies - Hogs, OJ & Rafferty - pretty bold.

I’d prefer Tryamkin over Benn or Rafferty in this lineup

Another nice D man & top 6 forward (Toffoli sad face), would make me more hyped.

I'd settle for just 1 of those, both is pretty much impossible with how hard it is to move out cap.

I don't see them doing much more. They need to move out a little money. JB has talked a lot about having young guys step in.

OJ and Hoglander seem like locks. Rathbone, Chatfield, Rafferty possibilities. Podkolzin and Tree after the KHL season.

Granlund is still out there maybe a 1 year deal, would be nice to have a playmaker for Bo.

I like Hoglander, but having him as a lock seems bizarre. He's tracking decently for a higher pick but it's not like he's being viewed as a lock by scouts and people who watch him play like EP and Hughes were after their D+1 seasons

I'd at least sign Leivo for peanuts and look into adding in an experienced depth dman for when Edler gets injured.

I bet Podzolkin could play in the NHL now. I doubt Hog is ready.

Hoglander might not be ready for his role, but Pod is as ready as he’ll ever be to do what he does.

Yes, but Sutter or Roussel would have to be moved. I've seen Granlund linked to Columbus though so he may have offers and is holding out for more term.

Yeah, Pod will have to be a 3rd wheel if he's playing the top 6

Would love them to get Leivo back! Think he can be had on the cheap...

Definitely need to move Sutter or Sven right now.

Yup. Pretty much focus was to keep goaltending steady and improve D in where to invest cap. They did that. The next stage improvement is from the ELC guys. There still may be a trade to make if they can force cap out on LE/Ferland in time for next season. Good to have options.

I think someone needs to be moved regardless. Not sure what other top 6 guys are out there.

That said if a 3rd gets Schmidt, I could see another trade.

Imagine if he'd had all his draft picks.... we'd be even better off
- Pres.cup

Those early days there was so much to do that some picks had to move. Didn’t work out that great then but overall we made good strides.
