It’s so hard watching all of these teams get better and Rutherford piss it all away when he doesn’t have to. This is going to be the most top-heavy team of the Sid/Geno era.

I too like the transition to a younger, and faster, group. I’d love to see some of the young crop push for spots including guys like O’Connor and Maniscalco, but am a bit worried that some of the offseason acquisitions such as Sceviour and Matheson (who, I’ll admit, does intrigue me somewhat) may keep some of the younger talent from earning a roster spot. It seems like experience has trumped youth in the past.

Definitely looks like they blocked POJ, who was probably the most likely of the prospects to be ready to contribute. I am not buying Matheson's ability to play RD until I see it. Just heard that one too many times where it turned out to be false.

Yea there's good (frank)ing bargains out there! If there was ever a year to snag a couple guys this was the off-season when it's a buyer's market lol.

Be very interesting to see how they pull this off since they probably need to dump multiple players. Pietrangelo is great, but not sure I'd have put myself in this spot in this market unless they already have trades lined up.

Colorado picking up Toews from NYI is a very underrated move. I thought he was NYI's best offenaive defensive and a big part of their future.

Wrote about it a lot last week. Would rather you just read those stories. But bottom line: Penguins and Marc-Andre Fleury are mutually interested in him returning to PGH. Need another team to take on part of his cap hit. Remains true even after GMJR’s moves last week.

Not a reflection on Casey DeSmith. But ability to add veteran partner for Tristan Jarry and put DeSmith in AHL for only $175K cap hit is why Penguins have interest. Also, internally belief is Fleury would help offset leadership/personality loss of Patric Hornqvist in room.

Cant spend on Fleury it'll eat up the precious remaining cap unless money goes out somehow on a 3 way but I'd rather the jarry desmith combo anyway.

Goalies aside I think Leivo for 3rd line and Koekkoek for RD would come in cheap and man are their underlying numbers strong. Their skatr charts look good
