Who cares how it makes him feel. He is calling it like he sees it, like a lot of us see it.

It’s not about feeling good or not. It’s a hockey discussion board. Not a let’s sing camp songs around a fire talking about world peace.

Venting frustration is one thing
Continuously b!tching ALL day, EVERY day is utterly pointless imo

Just asking what he gets out of it?
Bc it clearly isn’t actually making him feel better
Dwelling in anger/frustration is just gonna keep u angry & frustrated
It’s just hockey Stripes

That blows.

Boston isn’t giving up a top 2 spot in the division anytime soon.

Between Kase and Smith that’s two very good additions in the last little while

- Pegullaville

You would think a team talking constantly since the new GM took over about focusing on analytics and having a new approach to looking at players would've had Craig Smith as a near top priority with his cost and his on ice impacts.

Much like everything else Sabres related, turns out it was bloviating nonsense so far.

Wild re-sign RFA forward Jordan Greenway to $4.2 million, 2-year deal.

Like 89 mentioned ..... Vegas will have to shed some salary. Get on the phone and fleece them. Not too many other teams have cap space to do that.

Also for everyone crying about yesterday.

Hall - I think someone mentioned that
Toffoli
Haula
Koivu
Fast

And a bunch of other good players are still available.

Did you really want to sign one of the scrub goalies that signed?

What player did we miss out on??

The only really good deal was turris for 1.5 mill. The rest of the players were pretty much trash.

Craig Smith would’ve been nice though. But no one with sources on twitter or here even mentioned his name. So I can’t say we took the L on that one

- Sabretooth9

Turris has been trending downward for a while
He’s not close to good anymore

Again this is a discussion:

I like tage at 1.4
I like stahl for Johansson
I like girgs for $530,000 less than the average nhl salary
I did not like kahun, nor think he's the answer
I like lazar

5/5 for Adam's as far as I'm concerned.

- Boss34

I like 3 or the 5. Based on what bottom 6 players are getting he overpaid for girgs. A 37% raise is ridiculous. Also why not sign Kahun at a little over $2m? Maybe they still will?

Dreger:

It’s looking like the Oilers and Tyson Barrie are closing in on a 1 year agreement. Being finalized. Likely just shy of $4 mil.

True
Except mine has the possibility of accomplishing something
The Sabres aren’t reading these posts,
and wouldn’t alter their decision making even if they were

Good post

I heard hall again this morning.
The $ tied up in left wings (sdsabre) brought up makes it less likely. The ralph connection is real though.

Maybe hall at 6.75 per? Covid pricing
The 3.5-3.75 from kahun (whatever the arbitration would have been) and the 3 million from Larsson moving on?

His cash out is only 3.75 million and then expose him to Seattle
- Stripes77

With what he's owed beyond this coming season, for 3 more seasons at that, it's an awful large assumption that Seattle is going to take him without the team who has Tyler also adding an asset as well.

“The RW trio of Pastrnak/Kase/Smith is projected to provide $32M worth of wins for $12.4M. #NHLBruins”

https://twitter.com/jfres.../1314957988994732034?s=21

The Sabres like to pay $32M for 12.4M worth fo wins.

There is the difference right there ladies and gentleman.

- Pegullaville

The above nailed it! The long time Sabres motto is buy high, sell low.

Good thoughts ion?

Which of the 1 for 5

Stahl for Johansson
Resigning tage
Resigning girgs
Letting kahun walk
Lazar at near minimum

I'm a homer , but these moves all make sense to me.
I guess we'll see

- Boss34

We all have opinions...mine is just better Boss...jk'g

Staal. Absolutely LOVED it and still do...gave me hope.
Kahun, Girgs, are bad, and Reider is ok as 13th
Quinn was questionable in my book...like Rossi a whole lot better is all...maybe Quinn turns out great..I'll wait.

He went from A+++ on Staal
To
C with Staal et all.

Seriously...
what did u want the Sabres to do that was realistic?
We are a MESS right now

Should’ve been EXPECTED that big name free agents weren’t gonna sign here

Were u hearing differently?

You do realize by clearing waivers he reverts back to TB property, this isn’t The NFL where he becomes a UFA

Don’t get this one.

They can’t defend to save their lives and manage to get worse defensively with this move.

However he’ll run their PP and put up a crap ton of points

Just make it a good prospect who would be worth more than the 2nd or 3rd rounder to get Seattle to take him?

Idk it’s all doable I think but his contract is a huge hurdle

As for being mad at the Sabres. Not yet. If all the list of players I mentioned are signed and we don’t sign one of them. Then we can all be mad

But let’s wait and see

Have u seen either play at all?
Rossi sounded better, but we drafted a goal scoring winger- which we really needed
None of us have any clue how it’s gonna work out

I don’t want them to panic and overpay (they already did on one of their own) but I don’t want to sit back with the wait and see approach.

Fair enough.

Maybe they overpaid girgs? Buffatax is real.
Attracting free agents to wny is real.
He did outscore/outplay his contract LAST year
coach that sees him everyday, likes him

Kahun wasnt worth arbitration.
If they sign him for 2 million, sure.

Everyone will pretend they weren't pegging him as a 40 point close to 4 million $ guy.
Low 2 millions - good move by the Sabres.
Although I really trust the Sabres opinion
