They would need to move a package involving Risto, Monte, or Miller with Mitts, Tage or Picks .
Risto is out because the new Analytics they aren't using show him to be a waste of Money, and the Owner likes him...cute smile and all.

Now, your position of future grades was cited by several last season when they had 13 NHL caliber Dmen on the roster. ... Bogo and Pilut are gone of their own accord (Bogo tried to ROR his way out). For the most part nothing else happened.
I'm not expecting it by any means, and will be surprised if it happens.

- IonSabres

I agree,

Mitts, sam, montour, tage, miller all available for trades.

Hutton too

I like olloffson, but if he wants too much,- see ya

Boston, who’s won a cup, is a constant contender, is trading for two top 6 wingers within a year, signing good UFA’s and in talks for Taylor Hall.

The Sabres, who have missed the playoffs for my entire 20’s don’t wanna rush things

Now boston and buffalo are on equal national hockey league footing? 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀

Keep digging broads.

These 2 franchises couldn't be more polar opposite.

Do you ever use common sense?

There is a reason why Boston is one of the most expensive cities and Buffalo is well not. They aren't equal NOT EVEN CLOSE. Players want to want to play there Buffalo, no. Fans pay a lot more in ticket prices because there is a lot more money there. Again, Boss is right.

I think Tage at 1.4mil per season is much more questionable

Girgs has proven he’s a good defensive forward in the nhl

Tage has proven to be good over a handful of games in the AHL before getting hurt
His contract makes no sense to me at all

Tage was overpaid by 400K. It’s not a massive increase.

And for girgensons ..... yes we overpaid. Based on other 4th liners it was bad.

The Sabres.

And I’ll point out their ineptness until they are actually good.

Do you get Christmas cards from the Pegula’s? Do they give you a fake gift like making a donation to the Human Fund?

So here is my thought on the Sabres with the pegulas

Bought the team and put tons of resources into the team, the city, the harbor center the local community.
They flew out and recruited Robyn regeir convinced his wife to come to buffalo
They signed erhoff to a huge free agent contract

They kept on Darcy and Lindy, something that everyone of their advisers recommended.
Didnt pan out

They decide to tank. Maybe bad advice?
Fire lindy , hire garden gloves and try to lose with ted
Argue with pat lala and lose the structure, which piles more on Kym and tmgm

They miss on sam over leon. Gmtm did
The get eichel not McDavid
Gmtm trades for "players" with warts.
Ror quits, ek9 assaults, lehner has substance issues.
Build the team without worrying about Rochester or player development.

Tmgm fired

Then they go to the nhl and ask: who would be a good fit?
They go with jbotts
He was terrible, but looked like a natural hire.
Was he the reason Pittsburgh was great for years?

None of these people could be trusted with captaining the Sabres ship. Bad decisions and answers.

They get advice on pandemic
Probably understand they will not be making money off of ticket revenue in NY for a few years.

They hire someone cheap that they trust in kagm

Overpaying didnt work. They try fiscial stability approach.

I really can't argue with the fiscal approach, especially this season.

Although, Junior, with his 7 years of college to achieve 60% of his Associates degree tried telling us we don't understand the concept of "lean"...they won't cut the player budget ... I do find that hysterical!

The constant in all this decision making by the Pegula's has resulted in two things:
- a largely pissed-off fan base closing in on being apathetic
- one of the worst run, if not the worst organizations that is the laughing stock of the NHL and has earned the proud distinction of being irrelevant.
Those are my thoughts on the pegulia's, Kerry and Tim.

Adams is an enigma...he talks a good plan, but excutes on a highly questionable set of actions.
I like that he says he has a "Sabre way" in selecting players...those who show up, work hard, execute, gets it done etc...God knows that team needs it...Staal was a terrific signing.
He needs more difference makers...to date he is 1 of 5 in my book.

4th liners who played their teams' 5th amount of ice time and 5th amount of goals? There seems to be something that doesn't add up there. Not to mention the Buffalo it sucks to live here tax and the NYS tax it wasn't that bad.

Who cares how it makes him feel. He is calling it like he sees it, like a lot of us see it.

It’s not about feeling good or not. It’s a hockey discussion board. Not a let’s sing camp songs around a fire talking about world peace.

His cash out is only 3.75 million and then expose him to Seattle

Or keep Kahun for $2.75 for 2 or 3 years.

we have done nothing but swap johansson for a cheaper, older, BETTER player- WHO’S A CENTER- in stall for 2 months

and now, now we are going to make 5 or 6 moves and try to ice a decent team

it's cheap time guys, hate to break it to you

- homiedclown

Fixed
Saying we haven’t done enough is fair
But don’t try to make a good move less significant

Like 89 mentioned ..... Vegas will have to shed some salary. Get on the phone and fleece them. Not too many other teams have cap space to do that.

Also for everyone crying about yesterday.

Hall - I think someone mentioned that
Toffoli
Haula
Koivu
Fast

And a bunch of other good players are still available.

Did you really want to sign one of the scrub goalies that signed?

What player did we miss out on??

The only really good deal was turris for 1.5 mill. The rest of the players were pretty much trash.

Craig Smith would’ve been nice though. But no one with sources on twitter or here even mentioned his name. So I can’t say we took the L on that one

Tage could be a deal at 1.4 per year?
Doubt you get 3 years at 1 million per?
I really do not like the guy, but this is good asset management. The coach knows him, knows his game better than us.

Girgs technically wasn't a 4th liner based on ice time

Dreger:

Teams have interest in Johnson, but aren’t interested in relieving cap pressure in Tampa Bay without the Lightning eating a portion of the money or including a legit sweetener to make a deal.

Good thoughts ion?

Which of the 1 for 5

Stahl for Johansson
Resigning tage
Resigning girgs
Letting kahun walk
Lazar at near minimum

I'm a homer , but these moves all make sense to me.
I guess we'll see

So Sabres over paid by $1m for a 4th liner and an AHLer.
Cool.

I guess that is one way to make sure Tage goes to the Amerks...who would claim a $1m AHLer

Agreed. Make them give up something of value to take on his cap hit. On top of him not being horrible.

Swap Casey for Thompson. I have more faith in Thompson right now.

It’s a better team but still don’t think it’s enough to make much noise. However the goaltending Upgrade might be enough to make the playoffs.

- Stripes77

I originally had mitts in the trade instead of Thompson but switched them out due to the Rw/lw dynamic
