I actually like Quinn A LOT more today then on draft day.

Watched some clips, read a ton.

There are quite a few people who think he’s going to and was better than Rossi the second half of last season.

Thing is, he was a multi sport athlete up until a year and a half ago, he started to really focus on hockey and that’s why he had that huge jump.

Peterka’s player comparable to me is Andre Burakovsky.

I thought Quinn would go in the 12-17 range.

I thought Peterka would have went in the 24-30 range.

The Peterka pick definitely calmed me down though and I didn’t mind moving up to get him I thought him along with Gunler (Carolina at pick 41) were the only first round talents at forward left available

I don't think anyone said he was gonna get money thrown at him. Sabres got scared of what he might have gotten in arb., supposedly he wants 2.5mill and the Sabres first offer was under 2mill.

Add in the Cap/Salary necessary to resign their RFA's and they are very close to being done in FA IF they hold to that $72m internal budget.
Trades are the only way out...specifically Risto, Monte or Miller.

Girgs had the 5th amount of ice time of any player on the Sabres last year.

The 4th line maybe have been numbered the 4th but played above its level because the Sabres sucked

Boss made a good point the Buffalo Tax and the NYS tax adds to players contracts

Many of the 4th line players that signed for 1 mil didn't get a 5th of their team's ice time.

I can agree with that.

The idea of Girgensons is fine (because let's face it, the biggest problem over the past few years has been the middle six), but not at that cost.

That being said, I don't think Girgs contract is hindering them from doing more. If they choose not to do any more, that's on the owners.

I DO, however, take issue with some of the posts in here that are saying we're worse. We are not worse, and just the trade of Staal makes that a fact.

Are we better? There are a ton of question marks (Tage, Mitts, Cozens) and some holes in the lineup, but I still think those holes get filled.

Just my 2 cents.

Still think they should trade Of traded Eichel, Reinhart, Risto, Montour and Skinner and loaded up on draft picks this year.

Could of had a huge core of players to build around Cozens, Dahlin and Joker. Could of built another 06-07 Sabre’s in one off season
