It’s mind boggling that since the start of NHL FA the Sabres have actually managed to get worse

- homiedclown

Before free agency, but still...

Staal > Kahun

What other moves have they made to MAKE them worse? And who said free agency was over? Was there a trade deadline I was unaware of?

A few of you guys act like they're dropping the puck tomorrow.

It's only just begun

Pretty much, but there is plenty of good players left that can help this team.

People are just starting to come out of their whiskey induced comas...

You’d have to think they have notifications disabled right?
- Stripes77

the sabres had a rough 48 hours and deserve whatever blasting they get

it's really sad watching the few defend what they are doing right now

and I still have no clue why botts got canned, only to move forward with his core, and his prospects

if you are moving ahead with his d, his goalies, for the most part his core up front and banking on his prospects to fill the roster gaps, why did he get canned?

Who's defending, FA is less than 24hrs in the book.

A page or two back someone I believe it was 89 said to take him on but only if they give up Tuch...

Would love to see it

- Stripes77

Actually, that started with me several weeks ago. Tuch played himself out of 1:1 trades, but he might be a casualty for MAF.

Give them a conditional 7th...conditioned on MAF playing 35+ games and having a .912

Goalie market was the only thing consistent today.

Krug came off the board.

Lots of role players.

Most big ticket items though are still out there

- Pegullaville

Im still hoping for Soderberg or Smith.

Kind of a weird day yesterday as you eluded to. Krug and Hoffman went off the board but there are still names

Same thing was said last year, and then the Sabres....did nothing.

You are expecting way too much for a low budget team who’s owners actually don’t care about the winning and hockey itself.

As was said before FA started, the middle class will suffer. There's a ton of useful middle 6 FAs left. Just the ones this team needs.

With that, I'll be back when there's something positive to discuss.

I am not expecting much, I said a couple days ago a goalie and a couple forwards. And still think that will happen.

Another problem with the Sabres-

Adams is clearly over his head, and is just a mouthpiece, while Krueger and the Pegula’s run the show from behind the scenes.

What happens when Krueger and the Pegula’s inevitably have the divorce that always happens with these owners? Suddenly will Adams have power? Will they fire Adams too?

Which one is gonna handle trading Eichel?

Tuch isn't happening, but I'd squeeze a 1st plus out of Vegas and demand they retain 50% of Fleury's salary as well. If Vegas balks, move on.
- kingcong39

I like the negotiating stance for sure.
Pegula's might prefer your economic solution better...although if the Knights are preparing for winning on Petrangelo saving $3.5m won't do it...and that 1st is likely a high 20's pick...not enough to offset that even at a reduced hit, IMO of course.j

While Tuch would be a very difficult get, IMO he is the only reason to deal with them. Make 5he offer, move on. Flury is a distant 3rd as far as reason to make that deal...Flury's cap hit and salary make taking him a penalty that needs go be offset.

Fazing out of the middle class.

Hate to see it.

Yep, that's about as good as a lineup as we can ice right about now. Pretty much exactly how I envision it. IF (big if) Quinn, Cozens, Casey, and Tage can be good/great next year, that lineup isn't so bad. Out of all of them, I see Quinn as making the biggest impact (if he's on the ice with Eichel). Would be nice if Cozens/Casey/Tage live up to their high draft status. If that happens ? That's a pretty decent team next season (IF there's a season !)

I would also add if UPL starts and is good/great - that would help immensely.

(Trying to be positive here)

Oh yes!

I had to laugh about the whiskey induced coma post...I hit the canibus pen good and had a couple bourbons.

I was told to stop female doging by the guy who comes in to female dog about others female doging, lol.

I see another reider like signing in case jack jr is not ready

it's all up to the kids, and that clearly was their plan all along, so just come out and say it instead of spouting fancy stats and research

casey better be working out with rocky 4 in the background
