Kahun is free to sign with anyone right now, so instead of one arbiter, there’s now 30 across the league who can determine his value.

No matter the outcome they didn’t get it right

- sbroads24

Keep saying this , it makes no sense.

They would have gone to arbitration and had to pay between 3.5 - 4 million according to some around here.

Maybe kahun isnt that good? The 6 games everyone fell in love with the guy, is ridiculous.

Now kahun is rumored at 2 million a year.

They did it exactly right . They are letting the market dictate his value, not an arbitrator

Draft a goalie in the first round with UPL in the pipeline.

That's even dumber than trading down those 3 spots.

- Powerslave

UPL was NOT good in Rochester last year
He’s not a “sure thing”

On the other hand,
Askarov is the highest ranked goalie since Carey Price

And if both worked out....
Well that would be a great “problem” to have

If he signs, the gamble pays off. If not, we let a good player go for free. He was playing solid hockey before he got here. 6 games be damned.

I wonder what the market would have dictated Girgensons value at...

I disagree.

They need scoring.

UPL played 10 games.

Gotta wait for Hall and Pietrangelo to figure it out before we get traction on everyone else
- Pegullaville

For what it's worth, I hear the Sabres are putting together a good offer for Taylor Hall.

Makes sense, as most can see this team is being built by Ralph. Who coached Hall in Edmonton

They just signed Ralph's sons friend
Resigned gurgs who Ralph likes
Lazar is a ralph guy
Tall tage???

*not sure if hall signed anywhere yet ?

The trade back would’ve been good, but he would’ve nullified it by using 37,38 anyways. So result would’ve been the same.

The overall issue is he was willing to pay a price to move into the 20’s for a guy who very well could’ve been there at 38, and was there at 34.

Like I said, I won’t hammer him for it or be that annoyed, but it’s not something they should always do

- sbroads24

But my point is, say he does move and take JJP in the 20s. How could you possibly have verified he would have been there at 34? It happened yes, and hindsight is 20/20. But JJP had a first round grade from nearly every outlet. There’s not a for sure he’s gonna slip. So I think it’s a good move as like you said we’d be in the same spot but at least he had the balls to get his guy one way or another.

After we get Hall, let’s go get Johnny hockey and have 40M on our LWs. Great times

2.3 million minimum

What do most 3rd line, 7 year veteran nhl players go for?

Either ralph is gonna rotate these guys like the Bill's defensive line or girgs is gonna girg on line 3.

Ask homie,

Just under 14 minutes a game, is 3rd line time right?

Because this happens with multiple prospects every single year. The point is that a guy drafted in the 20’s has almost the exact same chance at success as a guy picked at 34 or even 38. Just stay where you are and don’t waste picks.

Moving into the top 10-15 is another story

I said 40 point guys make 4 million these days. I didn’t say an arbitrator would award him that.

Like I’ve been saying. Kahun at $2.75-$3 million is worth it since he’s a 40 point guy and there are 40 point players making $4 million.

Skinner is going to be a kraken

I think the new formula is paying top end guys top end $.
Then go cheap for the bottom 6.

Not an important stat but...

Tobias Rieder has a career +/- of -80

He’s been on a lot of bad teams,
so that’s no biggie

Isn’t he a pretty good PK guy?
