Rumor is Kahun wanted $2.5 per, we offered $2 per, for 2 years. So yea. Trying to wait to see how things turn out, but this all looks bad on Buffalo. Only trade in the last month is to move up 4 spots in the second round of the draft. Weak sauce for sure.

They offered less than $2M to Kahun.

Well they have to keep there flexibility

I've gotten behind the Quinn pick, as what choice do we have and he's a good player. I liked moving up in the second to get his guy, by who all accounts is also a good player. I don't mind not qualifying Kahun, but it's confusing to not while also qualifying Montour. But you have to replace Kahun, even if it's in the aggregate. 2 guys that can match his and another players output. We'll see what happens, but this is where I'm at. KA has had a mix of good and perplexing moves thus far.

I don't get the sword swallowing today. Sure, I would have risked Kahun beating them in arbitration (although it sounds like he would have taken 2.5 per year). I also didn't like the Gus contract. But today isn't the day to female dog about lack of activity. Today can be summarized by some people getting crazy contracts and then a bunch of other role players. There is a lot to be played out.

I would of rather paid Kahun then Gus, We all ready signed Lazar. IMO Lazar and Gus same player.

If girgs got 2.2x3 what’s larsson going to get? I would bet less for less years.

Like I said, it's just been a mix of perplexing (qualifying Montour, and not Kahun, Gus) and good moves (VO, moving up to get their guy) thus far. It just doesn't feel like there is actually a direction, and we have people pulling in opposite ways for me.

If they just give him the 2.5x2 I’ll be happy. What’s the holdup?

I will happily take my lumps if proven wrong.. I really do hope that I am, just doesn't feel like there's a direction that everyone is going together at this moment.

I see your point but they have had months and months to do things and they come out and make weak moves. Not even signing Oloffson or Reinhart yet? There has been 0 to be excited about, heck even out star player might want to be traded. Only way they can come back is to make some smart moves from here out and that is questionable of course.

I’m all about the short term deals. Reinhart can be included too imo. Term is what scares me.

What are the good ones? Staal?

He’s the exact same out of his element Gm as the last one.

So far

In

Staal
Reider

Out

Larsson
Kahun
Johansson

At best we’re break even right now, in an offseason they should be desperate to be a ton better.

The Kahun thing is puzzling, but at the same time it hasn't played out. As Pham pointed out on twitter teams fear giant arb awards. Rodriguez got 2 mill last year and signed for 700k today. Who knows, they may get it right.

That was a rumor they were close to that earlier, but nothing official. But like, do that today? Could have done that 6 months ago.

I don’t believe they couldn’t have signed girgs for 1.7 and Kahun for 2.5. Same as 2.2 for girgs and 2 for kahun. There’s no way he’s taking less than girgs to play here now imo.

So Tobias Rieder has career earnings of $9MM.

That makes me ill.
