Wonder if Ralph put it in the Pegula's ear to consider Kevyn for the job.
- Powerslave

It would be extremely hard to argue that Ralph made it clear to the Pegulas, if tweedle dee and tweedle dumb themselves didn't see it, that Jason Botterill was failing the organization.

I don't think they needed Ralph's help to hire Kevyn, but I think they consulted both of them prior to it, to see how they'd mesh.

Looks like Stutzle hurt his arm, over in Germany could miss 2 months or so.

Ralph runs the show, and Adams was the cheapest option.

Botterill wasn't fired for performance, which is crazy in itself, but true.

He was fired because he wouldn't go along with firing half the staff and changing how they do scouting.

Krueger is the dude now. I expwect him team Pres within a few years

- sbroads24

I wouldn't be so sure. I think the pandemic let them really evaluate the core of why this franchise has gone to poop. Yes they made a cheap hire but they really are, at the heart, very different now on how they operate.

any chance we sign Haula for 3C? that would be a hell of a turnaround on offense if we did that in one offseason.
- SabresFaninIndiana

No. It's clear they have their four centers. Cozens can flip inside. Lazar can move around. Ruotsalainen can be called up, with Asplund.

The trade market is next.

Nah, I'm sure. Again, Botterill wasn't good so hopefully it ends up a blessing, but they announced he was coming back, then he got let go 4 weeks later when they decided to cut all the staff and change scouting.

It's the Ralph Krueger show now.

They could protect both and still not really lose anything of value

Eichel
Sam
Olofsson
Skinner
Thompson
Mitts
Routsalainen

Dahlin
Joker
Miller

Ullmark

Let them choose between Eakin, gus, okposo, risto and lazar

- jcragcrumple

You don't need to protect Roots or Okposo.

We have room to bring in a significant player and expose a guy like Thompson or Mitts

I agree. I wasnt impressed with him at camp last year. My point is you could protect him if you wanted. There's really an extra spot. If they like Lazar more they could protect him or lion eater.

They're going to lose a superfluous player

Hopefully not Girgensons. I couldn't bear to see him in Seattle

I'm still going on record saying the NFL is screwing the Bills here.

Any reports on White?

I mean if they didn’t play today they would be playing on 11 days rest against the Chiefs playing on 4

It is what it is right now.

Also he’s questionable for the game but I doubt he plays. He hasn’t practiced that I know of

But the Bills had to gameplan for two teams not knowing if they were cancelling TEN and playing KC or both. Not to mention TEN is rested and getting AJ Brown and Lewan back.

It’s not great

That ship has passed - they signed Eakin as their 3c. They would have gone after Haula instead of Eakin if that's who they wanted
- turbo044

Why has that ship passed?

What makes Lazar an automatic lock for the 4th line center role?

If they can get Haula on a $2M deal, why not bring him in for the 3rd line center role and have Eakin center the 4th line?

Who do you think Seattle would take out of this list (im going to include both Risto and Miller as possibilities even though one would be protected because I think Ralph prefers Risto to Miller but idk):

Risto
Miller
Gus
Eakin
Lazar
Okposo

My main concern is someone on the Bills catching the virus. Otherwise:

We got 2 days more to prep for TEN while TEN has had one practice in 17 days: Advantage Bills

Instead of playing KC on THU on 3 days rest we now play them Monday on 5 days rest. I know KC has more rest too, but this is hardly screwing the Bills

Why would we want two black hole defensive centers for lines 3/4?

I don't like the Girgensons money but I don't mind the player for what he does on the team. He should be paid a million less based on market.

I also don't know the work level Reinhart puts in, so I didn't list him. He doesn't ever seem to pop up on the "this guy busts his ass" comments from the media, but you don't hear about him NGAF either. I truly don't know.

I know Skins works hard too, but I don't know if he does it consistently.

- TheSabresTaco

Eichel said in some preseason interviews last year that Reinhart consistently outperforms him in some of the preseason fitness tests (cardio tests primarily), no matter how good a shape Eichel thinks he is in leading up to the tests.

He said there was going to be a trade, there was (Van Veg) and left. He didn't say a trade with Buffalo haha.

I am not saying it is anywhere near a priority, but Lazar being granted the 4th line center job seems premature if you can bring Haula in at a cheap rate, such as $2M for example.
