Doesn’t this put Van in kind of a cap crunch now too, especially with Petterson and Their Jack Quinn Hughes soon.

That would be great!
Good ideas

And as you guys have mentioned bring back pilut to be your #2 LHD and the team is pretty solid. Pilut has an out clause with his KHL contract. Botts screwed up this one

McCabe named as best defensive defenseman by BOTH our goalies

He’s bashed too harshly on here

Yep at close to $80m with those 2 + one other to sign as RFAs. They’ll have to move money out too now. Doesn’t make sense

Good chance he improves this year

If they stick Monte on his left, I’ll be watching those shifts with one eye closed waiting for the car wreck. Lol!

Adams Needs to sort that mess out. And it should be Risto that goes, but it won’t be because they all love Risto...

The way the d slots at this point is just a comedy of errors.

Joker should slot at 2RD, but he can’t.

McCabe should slot at 3LD, but he can’t.

Miller, analytically, fits best as the 1RD, but Ralph won’t.

Borgen deserves a shot at 3Rd, but he’s on the outside looking in.

Davidson slots in at 3LD, I have no idea who he is.

Pilut could help if they can figure it out, but again, is he a 2 or a 3?!?

Irwin is your extra...

Dahlin. Miller.
Pilut. Joker.
McCabe. Monte.
Borgen
Irwin
Davidson
Risto

Well Hutton did have vision problems last year!!

Mccabe did play better last year. I like him as 3rd pair when he’s healthy

I’d have done that in a heartbeat if i were the Sabres

Then asked what they wanted for McNabb ❤️

- jdfitz77

They traded him in the division...that’s crazy

Based on Ralph’s lack of playing miller I think he’s the one who goes, although I agree with you that I thought he played well when given the chance. Montour has to be on the right side, he was lost on the left

Dahlin joker
Pilut risto
Mccabe montour

Disagree with some of this
But if all Vegas can get for Schmidt is a 3rd,
then I’m in no hurry to just dump a decent player
Wait till the trade deadline when teams will be likely to give up more

Well, we have 9 d men “rostered” with Pilut. So call it 8. And not including Borgen.

Are Davidson and Irwin AHL available?

And how many d man are you carrying on the opening night roster?

He’s bad. It’s fine. He might luck out that Cozens is a star and Hall will want to resign and Dahlin evolves into a Norris caliber D man
- sbroads24

Lol

He already brought in hall and staal. Silly to call him bad. He saw issues, and actually fixed them

Who gives a crap about either of them though?
If we send one down & they get claimed,
I definitely won’t care

He gets credit for that. But before Hall this wasn’t close to a playoff caliber roster, so his accomplishment goes as far as maybe not ruining Cozens.
- sbroads24

Oh so before he added a player such as hall it wasn't a playoff roster? Good thing he did his job by doing all he could to make it a playoff roster.

Well, they signed them for a reason... you would think there is SOME type of plan that isn’t in the vane of, “we just signed you, who gives a crap, clear waivers”....

Obvious depth players imo
We don’t know what’s up with Pilut yet
Maybe he doesn’t plan on coming back this season?
I’m ok with having 8 “NHL caliber” defenseman
I still remember that Carolina series 🤬🤬🤬

Yep we need to unload a rhd for cap purposes if we’re upgrading our goalies. Makes no sense to have Miller sitting out 10 games at a time again

Exactly - Davison will be sent to Rochester and Irwin will be the 7th to 8th dman hopefully

Since they probably aren't having an AHL this year don't they need extra bodies in case of injuries?

Filler players signed to league minimums. Won’t affect cap as they can’t be more expensive than your top 23 since their minimum and if you end them to Rochester and they’re claimed, nobody really cares
