Maybe Eichel and Ralph on the phone with Pietrangelo today. No doubt would be tough to fit in $ wise. But half joking aside, wonder if any other players may start changing their mind about Buffalo.

I'm thinking the Sabres aren't going to play a defensive style again next year with two really good lines and a third one that will have some talent. This will open up Dahlin on the D. Now get a stay at home D and a goalie.

Bring me steen (cap dump) and Dunn (Young 2LD rfa) for.... Got me, come up with something....

And bring me yakapovsted just to piss people off!

Hall. Jack. Yakapovsted
Skinner. Staal. Samson
Olofsson. Eakin. Cozens.
Girgs. Steen. Okposo
Rieder
Lazar.

Dahlin. Miller.
Dunn. Risto
McCabe. Joker.

Ullmark
Hutton. (Raatna?)

I did. Especially since it has a full NTC and NMC.

Would be able to do 8 years after the expansion draft

If that looked at doing that, they would need to move both Risto and Miller/Montour

It is possible, just would require a few extra steps to get done.

👍

The 1 year contract probably saves us a player like McCabe or, joker or possibly oloffson. Depending on more signings ect.

With the Hall signing finally settling in, any insight to their next few steps of this offseason (excluding Reinhart, Olofsson, and Ullmark RFA deals/arbitration)?
- CynicalSabre07

With Arbitration for Reino, Ullmark and Oloff their cap number currently is aorund $76m.

They would love to sell a RHD, Miller or Montour at 3.8 and/or Risto at 5.4 but with the new NHL, those prices are way above market value. I bet if they knew they were getting Hall they would have let Montour walk/not qualified him. I don't now how you trade any of them, unless it's for like a 7th rd pick (if you're lucky)

They would love to grab Kuemper for ARI and with ARI trying to trim $15m in cap you probably could get him reasonably. But, what do you do with Hutton. Maybe you could trade a #2 2021 pick, Hutton and a prospect like Johnson for Kuemper? It may work but have to be creative

We still have a big need for a LHD, very thin there.

Ideally:

Trade Miller and Montour for whatever you can get: save 7.6m

Kuemper for #2 2001, Hutton and Johnson: spend 1.8m

Sign LHD Gustaffson for $3m

Cap would now be at $73 million

I think so too, if they wanted after someone like pietro, they would need to move both.

I guess I look at the 2018/19 season and see this:

Sam reinfart 22 goals -10

Cody eaken 22 goals +19

I then look at the contract - 2.2 million vs. 6 million?

I look at having new faces, and a true nhl veteran with Stanley cup playoff experience

Sam is not (eye test) a good defensive player.
He would be a penalty killer, if so.
He's slow and won't add a spark if/when needed

He GAVE UP last year in a shift , maybe the sammers can hide that away, but the coach hasn't forgotten that play. Guaranteed

Holy sample size that fits your narrative

Last three seasons

Reinhart

69 goals 165 points

Eakin

33 goals 83 points

Hall had connections here....
I’m sure some others do as well,
but it would be surprising to see players “wanting” to come here until we start winning

$$ seems tight with teams right now though
So maybe we can snag another decent player or 2?

If you could trade 2 of Montour, Miller and Risto there's no Pietro $$. Not sure there's a market for them with their cap hits

1 too many guys there on the right. You also forgot McCabe. Irwin in the mix on the left as well.

You move one righty and Borgen is still just the extra.

I really hope this team starts winning soon. So we can all be friends and stop bickering over petty stuff.

Some will still come here to complain about a 3rd or 4th liner they don’t like

Who’s out there potentially trying to trade a goalie?

Is it just ARZ & CBj at this point?

Is Eakin getting cushy offensive zone starts with high end talent like Laine and Ehlers?

Don't you want the Eichel and Staal lines to take the bulk of the offensive zone starts?

- kingcong39

Hall/Skinner - Jack - Tage
Hall/Skinner - Staal - Cozens
Olofsson - Eatkin - Sam

I'm not a fan of Tage, but if he can dig in the corners, cycle he could be ok
That should be 3 solid lines, with Sam helping out on the 3rd

Once Cozens shiffs to C this season at some point, then it becomes interesting

Regardless of what anyone thinks about KA, I highly recommend everyone listen to his interview on S&BD today.

You can knock his experience and whatever, but goddamn the guy comes across so well, so clearly and so genuinely. He just gets it

I wouldn’t even want him at half salary though
I think he’s toast
