We know your thoughts on contract length by this point

Can you tell?

Lots of these 7 years deals have not gone well like Ladd and KO. I get giving 7 years to Panarin and JT as they drive offense. Isles can give Barzal 8 years. Giving players like Josh Anderson 7 years is just bad business.

It's risky, but when it works (during normal times anyway) the back half of the contract gives you a good player with a very fair price. Not unlike Bailey, who is playing way above his price tag lately.

I like Matt but it would be strange to see him back unless it's a friendly one year deal. Same for Brassard. What is your take on Josh Anderson getting 7 years chief?
- ses111

brassard was 1/2 a point a game for $1 mil. Someone will offer more.

Bailey will be a nice contract especially if he can keep up his play during these playoffs. Bailey is a durable player and does not play a physical game like Anderson so that is another factor favoring Bailey and his contract.

It's essentially a way around his full NTC. A team that he wouldn't have accepted a trade to can now claim him

Would seem to be a Barry type player. Would have been a nice pickup. I see EK has a rumor of Jackets and offer sheet for Barzal.

EK also mentioned Athanasieu and Lou loves his speed. At least this is a forward so progress in terms of rumors.

Quine to the Oilers.

Finally. A playoff hero to take the Oilers to the next level.

Would have liked to see what Quine could do with Barry as coach. Would have a better contract than Leo.

Now Holland just needs to sign Martin to a 7 year deal.

Very few bottom 6 contracts worse than Leo’s.

If Quine scored one winner in the playoffs for Cappy he would have scored two winner's for Barry.

But as amazing as Quine is, how would he get into the lineup with Johnston around?
