one thing about kahun, he is a 2 way player
not a liability when the other team is rushing in our own end, unlike 1 dimensional duclair

Kucherov recorded the 3rd most amount of assists in a single playoff year in all of NHL history behind only Gretzky and Lemieux.
Brayden Point and Victor Hedman could have easily have shared the Conm Smythe despite Kucherovs efforts.
Vasilesky crippled them last year, and this year made more saves above expected and was great.
It is important to have size. Coleman, Goodrow, Paquette all played their own specific roles in that Cup Win.
Tampa won the cup because their best players played lights out.
Is it important for the Sabres to add size to the lineup ? Absolutely.
However using that as the basis to let a productive role player walk for nothing doesn’t do it for me. - Pegullaville
Tampa still has to move at least one big contract
I wonder if they will try and say stamkos is on LTIR to buy time but that's risky
They will probably find someone to take Johnson and get a halfway decent return |

This is very true. If our “best” players actually showed up over the past 5-7 years besides Eichel, we maybe having a very different discussion today |

This is a "Sam lite" argument.
The sammers love kahun.
The posters that played hockey, realize that we have been pushed around for the last decade and need to become more difficult to play agaisnt.
Kahun isnt scaring anyone , neither is sam
The coach likes gritty and sandpaper, doesnt seem like ralph is interested in overpaying a small dude - Boss34
This is a good point. I wonder if Sam was in this week's draft how many Sammers would have wanted him drafted by the Sabres over Rossi or Quinn and where Sam would have gone in this week's draft? He doesn't have speed, size, he has some skill but not separation or creativity skill. It would be interesting to see where he would be ranked in this year's draft. Jack would still be #1 no fall there.

For those few posters hammering on the it will be his 4th team in 138 games...he was an undrafted free agent signing. We all know teams are more likely to give players they drafted more time in their organization.
Fact remains he’s out produced most players drafted when he was drafted eligible. - Stripes77

92nd in the entire nhl for even strength points per 60
but we don't need him as we have no problem scoring goals and wining games

Lot of unnecessary anger in here. Relax. Kahun will sign here, book it.
Take care. |

The 2014 class was a pretty weak one.. For those that dump on Sam, he's still a top 6/7 forward from that class..
And again, for those in the back that didn't hear me the first time. I still want more from him, but he's hardly the Sabres biggest problem. |

I think it is interesting many of the Kahun panickers already had an agenda against GMKA and the yacht owners so anything they say should be taken with a huge grain of salt. People will believe what they want to believe. I will wait until the next moves happen be they sighning Kahun, trades, UFAs whatever. before I issue judgment. |

it was a bad year for us to give up on trying to be mediocre and start the suck train. |

And Kahun improved from his rookie season to his sophomore season as he was 25th this past season. |

That is fair.
What is also fair is giving the ownership and leadership zero benefit of the doubt regarding moves they make as they do not deserve it. |

Tampa has had a top 3 if not best roster for a few years.

Toughness helped, but so did their star players playing like stars, which they did not always in years past. |

Just like Toronto with Sundin, the Bolts play a more team game without Stamkos... |

Agreed. Really only three "star" players came from that class if we're being honest with ourselves in Leon, Point, and Pasta. Then there is a next tier of solid guys in Larkin, Nylander, and Ehlers, with Sam and Arvidsson closely following. |

Except you already have by trying to claim that his former teams trading him somehow means he isn’t good.
Just call it like it is. You’re gonna back the Pegula’s and Adams, despite their awful, or empty track record
If Botterill didn’t QO Kahun id be just as livid because Kahun is a very good middle six winger |

I think Sam goes 3 or 4 to be totally honest. His prospect talent level is at or better than Stutzle

I'm stating the facts that this will be his 4th team, if he signs with another team, in 138 games that isn't a judgment that is a fact against everyone else's subjective overblown assessment.

Yeah, toughness and chippiness from their elite talented players. Everyone bought into that.
Heck, they were worse than Boston. And that’s saying a lot |
