I’d try to move Ghost (Idk if that’s unlikely now after the early draft rounds). Between that freed up money and the Nisky money that should be enough to make an offer to AP without adding any dead money to the cap.
- hereticpride

What happens when AP says no then what. Now you need 2-3 defenseman. If you want to make a pitch to AP fine but you don't trade Gostisbehere until you have to.

Come November that will be the start of this civil war; no matter who wins. So make sure you peeps are locked and loaded. Be prepared.

1. Make sure to get your news from only the sources you like.
2. Assume there is no news and no scrutiny beyond what you favor.
3. Be incredulous that others don't see what is so very obvious to you.

- PT21

You are exactly like the far left liberals who accuse others of what they do. All 3 points here are exactly what you do, repeatedly. Just like last night when you post to another poster to stop the personal crap after repeatedly making personal comments yourself. Your lack of self awareness is astounding.

Maybe he said that, maybe he misspoke, maybe he was just horsing around.

I always marvel at the fact how political debate in our country has degenerated into these spectacles.

Here is one more of the (frank)ing novels you like:

1. Why is he trying to dismantle ObamaCare, which has about 50% support and tremendously important in rural states and amongst low income white people? Whats his plan to replace it?

https://www.kff.org/inter...nfavorable&aRange=twoYear

2. What has he done to address the Fentanyl problem that has ravaged the same communities that support him?

3. How does he plan to begin fighting the coming century long fight against China while he alienates every other leader in the world?

4. How does he plan to tackle the enormous debt he rang up even before Covid, at times when the debt to GDP ratio is supposed to improve?

5. He has disparaged the military ("I know better then the generals"), the press ("the enemy of the people"), the FBI/CIA ("deep stat"e), the scientists/public health (covert agenda), the universities (elitists), international business (globalists). If Americans grow up believing every single institution is not to be trusted, what separates us from a banana republic?

6. Why did he pull out of the Paris Accord - the only developed country to do so? Is it for any other reason than spite against Obama? Climate change is real and an existential threat. Even his excuse that India and China were not planning to lower emissions (which was always false, as their per capita emissions are far, far lower - they just have a lot more people) is now untrue. China is taking leadership all over the world - and a week ago pledged to be carbon neutral by 2060 (undoubtedly a reaction to Covid blame, but still)

7. Why did he pull out of the Iran accord simply to satisfy the Netan-Yahoos in Israel?

8. Why did he create a circus with Covid? On September 11, Canada had 0 deaths from Covid. Yesterday it was 26. The US is routinely averaging about 1000.

9. More generally, why did he provide his supporters with the message "don't worry,, be happy?" That life is all a conspiracy? He is a 74 year old man - his supporters were going to take it up the ass anyway in the next 20-30 years. They gave him his uncritical support and he will leave office having screwed them long term like no recent President.

10. Race: don't even get me started there. As General Mattis said - "he is the first President to try and divide the people."

- PT21

Take this over to the Misc thread and we can debate every point. It's sad and pathetic how you can't help yourself and can't keep politics off of the thread. You've been foaming at the mouth waiting for an opportunity.

A guy with a lot of knowledge of hockey in Alberta on twitter @2020CDNHockey says Flyers pick of Connor Mclennon is a great pick. Said kid can score and might turn some heads!

The other piece they’re looking for might be Sanhiem or Myers tho. Also Laine is going to cost a ton to lock up.

If York was closer to the NHL it would be something I’d more closely consider but we just can’t afford to give up anyone we consider a top 4 D man right now.

If we make a big splash at this point I think it will be Pietrangelo or Krug.

How bad do the Jets want to avoid giving Laine that money? They’re the ones putting him on the block by rumor. I say Konecny and Ghost (or at least I would have prior to Niskanen’s retirement) or bail if they don’t bite. Still a pretty good offer IMO.

It has been said he wants 10 million per. Is that his Winnipeg price tag only I wonder? I can’t blame him wanting out of that City. Does he take 8 - 9 elsewhere?

Bottom line is you need to give to get when You want quality.

He never said that. And Biden tops the list for people who would do worse. That's what makes this election infuriating.

Democrats had a chance to beat trump easily by just nominating a normal human being. Instead they chose the only person worse than Hillary. Biden is a nice guy but hes never been all there, now his mind is just completely gone.

My only conclusion is that democrats want to lose this presidential election to continue to push fear and violence on the streets. Trump should have been an easy opponent for most democrats. Hillary and Biden are just universally disliked.

- Sir_Robot_Farts

Can you back this up with anything remotely relevant?

Biden has a history of misspeaking. But so did George W Bush.

He is a solidly mainstream politician. Many successes, many failures, many compromises.

The closest equivalent would be Chuck Grassley.

As for Biden and Hillary being "universally disliked", I know your connection to reality is quite weak, but here is a Fox News Poll from a few weeks ago (its the most recent poll I could find from Fox) which directly answers the exact question.

The entire poll is here:

The part I took it from is page 7.

BSH sounds positive about the Flyers last pick of the draft. Called the guy a steal who was a second round talent that fell supposedly due to an injury and his size.

I think any deal where it includes Konecny + ..... I say no. That to me is a side ways type move.

Krug is 5’9”. It could work. All these rule changes over the last 10 years have really made the league much more accessible for smaller players imo.

I'm kind of shocked that we didn't make any moves today.

I really thought they would be aggressively upgrading the team. Maybe the prices were too high and we will try to get some players on friday.

I'd still love Granlund and Hoffman.

I wonder what the cost would be for duclair? I expect he wouldn't fit with the fact that we have to add a number 2 dman... work your magic Fletch. I don't see improvement with status quo on D.

Not shocked. It’s a waiting game due to the flat cap and teams already against it are going to have to budge first to get out from under some bad money.

Fletch is playing it smart and being very patient.
