We made it past round one this year.........

The solution for this team is simple. To keep going on the path we are on. Everyone aside from you is aware of it. Konecny, Frost, Farabee, Lindblom, Couturier. These guys are our future and each one of them can improve so much more. Even Hart will improve.

Lindblom had 11 goals then got Cancer. Having him back in the lineup next season he will hit at least 20.

Konecny is capable of scoring 30 goals a year

Farabee only had 8 goals last season. He can do a lot better.

Frost is a highly skilled center prospect much like Patrick.

Couturier had back to back 30 goal seasons before last season. Maybe he its it again if no Covid but he definately will have more 30 goal seasons and Selke trophies

It is no secret Giroux, Voracek and JVR could be better. AV will get them back on track. That is what the end of the year meetings are for. AV would make clear to them the changes they need to make.

Flyers were in the top 10 for Goals Against.

Lastly there was no personal attack. I stated facts and at the end made a joke because all you talk about is how great Pavelski is.

Think big man.

Since we are just shooting the breeze, here is a blueprint. Don't critique individual trades and get hung up on details. I am not sold on them -some variations would work as well.

Look at the finished product.

In below, + is salary gained, - is salary deficit from trade, all differences are approximate.

Provorov+Frost+Brink+2nd for Eichel. (-1.9)

JVR + 1 m retained to a team that needs scoring (Columbus/Preds) for their 2nd. (+6m)

Couturier for Laine and Pionk (-5.5m)

Ghost + 2nd for a 6th (+4.5) to anyone

Voracek with 1.5 million retained for 2nd/3rd to Bruins (he would complement Krecjki nicely) (+6.75)

Pietro: 10 million for 7 years. (-10)

This breaks almost even

Giroux-Eichel-Laine
Lindblom-Hayes-TK
Laughton-Patrick-Bee
Raffle-Nate-NAK

Pietro-Myers
Sanheim-Pionk
Hagg-Braun

Hart

Year after that, let Laughton walk to fit in increased salary of Laine.

This, my friends, is a true contending team.

EDIT: please replace bolded above of -1.9 with -3.25. That leaves a deficit of about -1.5, which can easily be worked out.

So we are getting Petro...paying him $10MM per for 7 and then asking him to play out of position (he's a RD not Left). Awesome!!!!

I can maybe see someone maybe by slimmest thoughts thinking Matthews or eichel not generational and that’s a slim slim maybe. But saying Big Mac isn’t generational is delusional. Debate over for stupidity. Shoo shoo now

I didn't say too much. Follow along. Eichel and Matthews aren't generational. I don't even know who else you mentioned because you're using nicknames I never heard of. Mackinnon?

Well, are you just going to argue your beliefs as dogma or are you prepared to have them be rationally and politely discussed? If so, I would be happy to start a discussion in the Misc. thread, wherever that is.

Being rational and logical is not an example of being elitist or condescending. Quite the opposite. Everyone is equal, and it is not the arguer who wins (and who he is and where he works is utterly irrelevant) but the argument.

It does however require the willingness to work hard. I am willing to work hard, because it breaks my heart that people I grew up with have been reduced to someone as abhorrent as Trump to be the vehicle of their aspirations.

It means not making loose statements like what you said yesterday: If you work full time for a large engineering firm, then you should be on a large employer offered plan. That means your employer is able to hedge the risk from the pool of its own employees. With such employers, preexisting conditions would have been covered anyway in their plan offerings, which are typically tailored by insurer to fit the specific employer.

As such, there is no reason for your rise in deductible to have anything to do with Obamacare. There are 3 other possibilities:

1. Premiums were rising anyway and you chose a high deductible plan and got unlucky.
2. Your employer found medical costs too high and significantly reduced cost-sharing, which led insurer to jack up deductibles/premiums
3. Your rise in deductibles happened around the time the ACA happened to come into force, and you misinterpreted correlation as causation.

Finally, if your medical bills are recent, and they are with a well-known private hospital chain, and you have not yet committed to accepting them, PM me if you want to discuss a strategy to reduce them significantly. For people I know, I have reduced bills by a total of about 350-400k in the last 12 years. These SOBs play a particular game, and you can play one too.

Experience for experience sake is not itself an accomplishment. For all that time having been in DC for 40 plus years, Biden's only real accomplishment was to be re-elected in the Senate. For all his inexperience, the President has been much more successful in foreign affairs than Biden has as Senator or VP.
