There’s a huge difference between elite talent (play) and generational. Provy is very good. Could possibly be elite at times. Eichel is generational. Top 5 in league. Night in night out. It’s not a knock on provy at all. Again straight up that trade gets made all day long. Not that it would ever be offered. Not even by chirrelli - SMS4016
The Sabres would rival Detroit in the standings without him |

And he’s another ghost. Can’t play in his own zone. Unless moved to forward which doesn’t happen |

When asked what D was in his interviews he stared blankly and responded "Who's Dee?"
Then Stevie Y responded with "Deeeeeeez Nutz....PASSSSSSS" |

Well when you sign a skinner for 9mil a year and hire soccer coach who doesn’t play him with eichel that’ll happen. I don’t think they played a single shift together all year. How’s that possible? |

It’s definitely crazy but if I’m paying a guy $9am he damn well better be able to drive play on his own line |

All fan bases do.
Its always a good idea to ask fans (reasonably knowledgeable) of other (non-trading) teams for an unbiased perspective. - PT21
Yea, because fans not involved don't have any biases whatsoever of players on other teams.

True and when the discussion turns to domestic and/or foreign policy I'll be sure to mention that. |

In my opinion you're correct in that. Anyone who would trade Provorov for a forward is nuts. - MJL
It is crazy for anyone to even suggest that. Look at how hard it was to replace Chris Pronger when we lost him. Holmgren tried for years to plug the hole he left and hurt the team doing so. It wasnt until Hextall drafted Provorov did we fill it. |

It’s almost like they didn’t watch the last 10 years of Flyers hockey. We could’ve had Crosby and it wouldn’t have won us any cups without a legit top D man. |

Yep. I said was dumb. 9 mil for 1 time 40 goal scorer. I mean when healthy he’s nice scorer. 30 goals a year. That’s not worth 9 mil. Sorta like Jake Jvr definitely not worth contracts. Can get away with 1 contract on team like that but when multiple contracts like that it’s crippling to cap |

Building a team and making decisions as a GM is not done in a vacuum where you look at trades and player independent of the makeup of your team. The Flyers can't afford to trade Provorov unless it involves an equal defenseman in return. If you make deals like that all you have is a better offensive top line but a weaker team. |
