One of the fastest skaters Ive seen. But a perfect example of how skating is only one aspect of a players game. - MBFlyerfan
Daigle, in his early career, was actually pretty good. He just never panned out to what he was expected to be. |

If we could get a 2nd or even a 3rd for ghost with zero salary retained as people suggest you run away with that. See if you can get shattenkirk on a 3 year 4 per deal. Hes shown what he can do with a high end defender on a top pairing. Him and provy would be damn good.
Your pipeline is now stronger with 2 high upside prospects in the 2nd round and shatty is a better replacement for niskanen. - Tfaehner
Wait. What?

further what made me crazy at time and especially in the playoffs was the flyers reluctance to go to the net and as they say "pay the price". too much perimeter play. he seems like a kid that will do those things - nastyflyergirl
Eh? I disagree with this. It seemed like they lacked the speed and creativity to beat the opposing D.
So, they bombed away from the perimeters, but there were plenty of guys selling out near the paint trying to get to rebounds, deflections and so on. They just couldn't get them.
It seemed a speed and creativity problem rather than a will and willingness problem. |

This guy Pavelski also seems slow to me.
Also Lindblom. Not slow slow, but below modern average. - PT21
Lindblom is not a speedster but he is all over the puck on the forecheck. His skating is better than you have suggested.

People keep getting it wrong. When the Flyers were humming along in the regular season, did they look like a slow team? When you don't establish any forecheck of your own, don't get pressure on the opposition especially through the neutral zone, you're constantly chasing the puck and trying to attack against a 5 man unit. That makes a team look slower than it is. The Flyers just simply lacked the team play that they had established in the regular season. Didn't have the puck pressure game that AV's system is built on.

Unless getting AP i stay away from free agent dman who want term more than 2 years. Unless it is a sweet deal. Rather try to get a top 4 guy via trade who may only have 2/3 years left on there deal. Hell even 1 year won't hurt. |

This is true. However it would be nice to have a player on the roster that can be reliably penciled in for 35 goals and 80 points. It’s something they lack right now. Outside of St Louis, most recent Cup winners have at least one guy like that. - BiggE
Tarasenko averaged 36.4 goals and 71.2 points a season in the 5 seasons upto and including their cup.
So, pretty close. |

He was "meh" at best, especially for a #1 overall pick.

51 points as a rookie for a putrid Ottawa team (14-61-9) was decent. But the way he was projected, he should have walked away with 80 points and the Calder. He was a bottom-6 player for the majority of his career aside from his one resurgent season with Minnesota. |

Ok, but defenses tighten up significantly in the playoffs. Players commit far more to team D.
And further, Flyers had significant difficulties with the same 2 teams in the same regular season.
Thus, I am not convinced the issues are not more innate than what you say.
But, we have discussed all this before...

Who knows....but if reports of Konecny + was the ask....I’m not interested. - landros 2
TK, Hart, Myers, Provorov, Couturier, Hayes I would rule out right away in any package.
But everyone else I would at least listen. |

Its possible he was not up to par. I do recall hearing something.
But he still scored 11G in 26 games in playoffs, which is at about the average rate at which he has beens scoring. |

Good list...but Myers could be had if I’m acquiring a sniper of a young age. If Buffalo offered Eichel....only Hart makes my list.

No way I'd trade Provorov for Eichel, only because he would be part of a larger package, and I wouldn't do more than 1-for-1. We went cheap on G and D for the better part of a decade and I don't wanna go back there. |
