That’s awesome. The more I read about him the more solid of a pick he seems.
Emil, I’ll have to read more about. Was honest hoping the Flyers would have moved in the 2nd for Kleven or one of the bigger body D men. |

Think big man.
Since we are just shooting the breeze, here is a blueprint. Don't critique individual trades and get hung up on details. I am not sold on them -some variations would work as well.
Look at the finished product.
In below, + is salary gained, - is salary deficit from trade, all differences are approximate.
Provorov+Frost+Brink+2nd for Eichel. (-1.9)
JVR + 1 m retained to a team that needs scoring (Columbus/Preds) for their 2nd. (+6m)
Couturier for Laine and Pionk (-5.5m)
Ghost + 2nd for a 6th (+4.5) to anyone
Voracek with 1.5 million retained for 2nd/3rd to Bruins (he would complement Krecjki nicely) (+6.75)
Pietro: 10 million for 7 years. (-10)
This breaks almost even
Giroux-Eichel-Laine
Lindblom-Hayes-TK
Laughton-Patrick-Bee
Raffle-Nate-NAK
Pietro-Myers
Sanheim-Pionk
Hagg-Braun
Hart
Year after that, let Laughton walk to fit in increased salary of Laine.
This, my friends, is a true contending team.
EDIT: please replace bolded above of -1.9 with -3.25. That leaves a deficit of about -1.5, which can easily be worked out. - PT21
That'd be a great team. They should do it. |

Making hypothetical trades and signings like a NHL video game is not trying to improve the team. List of problems with the Blueprint are:
1) Does Pietrangelo even want to come to PHI
2) Is another team willing to out bid us.
3) Is Buffalo willing to move Eichel. GM has already stated he isnt.
4) Would Buffalo find that deal acceptable
5) Would any team take Voracek with a flat cap for 3 years
6) Would any team take JVR with a flat cap for 3 years
7) Does WPG find that deal acceptable
8) Does a team want Ghost with a flat cap.
9) Are we going to have enough cap to re-sign guys like Hart and Patrick who will be due for raises. Hart's will obv be a considerable one.
If one of these 9 points is a no. You are left with a mess. - xShoot4WarAmpsx

As in young generational or once was as in Crosby? - SMS4016
let's say young so you can add your boy eichel.
i also wouldn't say crosby "once was" a generational talent. he just is one, but ok. |
|
|
|
This is simply not correct. Both Marner and Taveras are as good as Eichel is. - MJL

Well remember Marner is a winger who is playing with either Matthews or Tavares.
Tavares is no doubt very good, but he looks like he is losing a half-step. He is also 30+. Eichel is 24.
Look at who Eichel plays with. Also look at the D behind him. He is essentially a p/g player now while playing on a very poor team, which also speaks to his mental fortitude. How many guys do you remember that happening with consistently? - PT21
Yes Marner is a winger with the majority of his points being assists. Who do you think is setting those guys up? He only had 16 goals.
Tavares has not lost a step. He was on pace for 78 points which is in a normal range for him. Until he actually declines age is not relevant here in discussing whether or not the Leafs have a player of Eichel's caliber.

Eichel would be the best player on the Leafs, ahead of Matthews |

Effective leaders dont have their head in the sky and if you actually paid attention in these comments. I havent once complained about this team and most people are not moping. In fact you are the one doing the most moping and complaining about how sh*t the team is, how Giroux is Garbage and how Pavelski's c*ck tastes great in your mouth... |

Well when I refer to generational I’d think you’d have to say in the present. Yes technically Crosby still active but I wouldn’t consider him generational anymore. With his age I’d say he’s more really good/elite still but I can’t consider him generational anymore same for someone like stamkos who once was considered generational although that’s debatable or kane types. So my list won’t include older still really good/elite players who once were generational ok |

We made it past round one this year.........
The solution for this team is simple. To keep going on the path we are on. Everyone aside from you is aware of it. Konecny, Frost, Farabee, Lindblom, Couturier. These guys are our future and each one of them can improve so much more. Even Hart will improve.
Lindblom had 11 goals then got Cancer. Having him back in the lineup next season he will hit at least 20.
Konecny is capable of scoring 30 goals a year
Farabee only had 8 goals last season. He can do a lot better.
Frost is a highly skilled center prospect much like Patrick.
Couturier had back to back 30 goal seasons before last season. Maybe he its it again if no Covid but he definately will have more 30 goal seasons and Selke trophies
It is no secret Giroux, Voracek and JVR could be better. AV will get them back on track. That is what the end of the year meetings are for. AV would make clear to them the changes they need to make.
Flyers were in the top 10 for Goals Against.
Lastly there was no personal attack. I stated facts and at the end made a joke because all you talk about is how great Pavelski is. |

You are taking all this very literally. It doesn't have to be followed to the T - I thought I said so.
Free up space to sign a #legit 1 and bring in Eichel.
If you can bring in a guy like Eichel at that age, you just do it, man. Look where Nhl.com ranks him
https://www.nhl.com/news/...ters-nos-10-1/c-317525840
and he is only 24! And playing with stiff like Reinhart on his wing!
The team fits itself around him. Take 2 years if you like to bring it all together.
Trade Giroux/Keep Voracek. Keep Frost/Trade Laughton. Keep Sanheim. Trade Myers.
Btw, are you an Eagles fan at all?

While there’s some in the discussion and some that some consider that might be like dahlin and draisatl my list and qualifications are extremely high.
Here’s how I’d personally rank them
Mcgodly
Mcgodlyjr Big Mac
Mustache Matthews
Curly hair eichel
Eichel/Matthews could be flip flopped if eichel had any type of real team to see what he does with elite talent.
That’s it for me. 4 |

Bill sounds pretty high on him. "Wisdom is one of the highest compete players in the draft . A pain to play against"
Edit: sorry, misread that. I thought Bill said "complete" not compete. |
