How about an all-speed line:

aa mccann tanev wow

Or even faster:

tanev aa kap wow wow

Tanev aa kap wow has all the elements I want in a speed line.

Yeah, except AA sorta sucks at center. It would be a fun experiment to see those three flying around at the same time, though.

I was thinking about in-house options to fill out our remaining roster spots and was wondering, who has a better chance of making an impact, or at the very least tread water, from the Kapanen trade? Pontus Aberg as a bottom six forward or Jesper Lindgren at 3RD?

Even if one of them was a semi-realistic option that could pay serious dividends and allow us to focus on just filling one hole instead of two.

Giggity

Probably Aberg at 4RW but maybe not with the addition of Sceviour. Most likely both are depth but Lindgren probably has more upside given his age.

Well, it looks like Baby Stuff to the Craps. Yet another annoying player on that roster. Hopefully the Pens continue to terrorize him. Just as well, he looks cooked and has for a couple of years.

On a side note, NYR have FIVE players on buyouts totaling $13M this year!

I honestly wouldn't concern myself with the third pair right defense because there's many options to try with even Matheson over there himself and possibly Rikki or POJ on the left. Plus see how the Matheson Ruhwedal pair does . They say matheson is the big risk taker then Ruh might be the perfect partner for him.

If they even play him against us, him and Samsonov will split time this year.

ERod not being qualified by TOR. I can totally see JR circling back around to him unfortunately.

Good points, plus Maniscalco sounds promising. Maybe we’ll get lucky with him and have John Marino 2.0.

Wouldn't mind him as a 13th forward, saw flashes of things I liked in his very limited time with Pens...but there seems to be a lot of players not getting qualifying offers and a good chance he might be able to sign someone better.

I think JR is concerned with it and wants Rik-Rude to be his 7/8. He has a history of getting rid of dead cap weight players only to sign or trade for other similar ones.

Yea, it's just that I think the other needs are more important because we have more options at D. But we'll see what happens.

Once the injuries inevitably start piling up I could see Aberg getting a chance, but I agree that Sceviour probably has the inside track at 4RW. Just as long as he isn’t the plan for 3RW...

Capfriendly is saying the Pens have 20/23 roster spots signed right now. Who has qualifying offers right now? I know Lafferty does but cant remember who else off top of head.

As of now you gotta think that's Tanevs spot. His line is already broken up anyways with ZAR out. They need to grab a solid 3RW and that can bump Tanev over to LW. Or a 3c and you have McCaan-3c-Tanev

That's how I feel, but we already have 2 13th forwards in Lafferty and Sceviour so we don't need ERod even though I like him better than either of them.

Definitely surprised to see Evan -Rod not tendered... Id like the addition so long as we get rid fo someone else and not logjam for poulin

Murray, Angelo, Avery. None expected to be on roster. I wouldn't even guarantee Lafferty a spot though with ZAR out he likely geta one. Roster wise they can add a forward or 2.

Would you have paid him over 2M because that's what it took to qualify him?

I definitely like ERod the best of those 3. Sceviour needs to be shipped out.

Ok, thanks.

So there should be roster room for JR to blow cap space on a sh!tty RD, right?
