I liked Guddy here, thought he was solid at moving the puck up to guys and was a beast. Too bad JJ couldn't have gone instead of Gudbranson haha.

Yeah I didn’t mind him at all. I think 4m is an overpayment for him obviously but yeah I def wish he stayed and JJ went to Anaheim

I wonder what toffoli is looking for salary wise. I’d def take a run at him and figure out the cap later if it’s close to his last contract. I imagine he’d want to stay on the west coast though ideally.

Oh that would have been a wet dream... instead of complaining about our 3rd pairing Dman who is overpayed and plays below replacement level... it would just be an overpayed 3rd pairing Dman... who at least can play his role.

If that were the case I think Schultz would have been moved at the deadline last year.

It's like the argument of going back in time and getting Evander Kane instead of Brassard

Is this you saying give a 3rd for Flower half retained and their 1st? Or you wanting a 1st and a 3rd? Cause I feel like Vegas is gonna give the finger for a bit on teams wanting a 1st+

Actually what I read was that Vegas is willing to GIVE a 2nd round pick for someone to take Fleury at 50%

That's a no brainier tbh. I now see a viable path to Fleury in pittsburgh again.

Let's hope someone drops a MOAB on that path.

Wow, for that price I’d honestly consider it, especially if we can move Murray for a pick. That might give us enough draft capital to trade for a decent 3C.

The issue right now is cap space. If the pens trade for fleury, that leaves them around $2 mil in cap space. As much as I’d love to see the pens take advantage of the Knights dumping fleury, I don’t think it makes the team any better besides giving a draft pick

Yea I'm not sure either, maybe someone else knows haha.

Yes, multiple salary retentions are allowable for the same player and for more than 50% of the original. This happened in the same trade with Lehner last year involving 3 teams.

Maybe the Canes will take Jarry for Staal@50% retained

And then we get Fleury@50% retained and a 1st

And then dump Murray for whatever

Bring the band back together!

I could see a 3 way trade where the knights retain 50%, then that team trades fleury at a cap hit around $2mil.

That’s true. I’m not sure how much of a difference there is between DeSmith and Fleury at this point in their careers. Probably better to just stand pat and hope we can get a pick for Murray and utilize what little cap we do have to fill out the rest of the roster.

Hoping for a decent bargain in free agency that isn’t named Ceci or Tanev.

I really dislike getting the band back together. I think it has about a 10% success rate and that might even be high. This is from someone who loves both Staal and Fleury.

Yea boring draft for us haha. I wouldn't expect a trade involving the Pens until the second round at the earliest.

Buffalo considering trading the #8 and they need a goalie... come on JR. If you get a haul for Murray and buyout JJ you win GM oty.
