I’d do Fleury, 50% retained, for Subban and Morrison.

Gotta get McNabb back. Ya know, to help them clear cap.

The Golden Knights have reportedly offered a second-round pick for a team to take just half of Fleury’s salary, but teams, including the Hurricanes, are asking for a first and a second. Moving Fleury is the top priority right now

If Stan feels Crow has moved on I would seriously consider this deal from Vegas- maybe have them throw in a second next year or retain $500k more.

I think the most a team can retain is 50%.

Yeah we’re not going anywhere the next couple years anyway. Why not if they’re sweetening the pot with their 2nd.

Fleury's 50% retained a 2020 2nd. and Krebs for 2021 3rd and Subban to Vegas. Knights are desperate take advantage. Vegas most likely say no to krebs so explore other options then in vegas roster.

The Vegas Golden Knights are trying hard to move Marc-Andre Fleury, as Seravalli reports on TSN’s Insider Trading that they are trying to encourage teams to act as a “broker” and take on some of Fleury’s cap hit in a three-team deal. The Toronto Maple Leafs did something similar for Vegas this season when they assumed part of Robin Lehner‘s salary in exchange for a fifth-round pick, but the Golden Knights are offering an even bigger prize to teams willing to help them facilitate a Fleury trade. Seravalli reports that Vegas GM Kelly McCrimmon has offered a second-round pick to that broker team, but so far that hasn’t been enough to eat the $3.5MM that the Golden Knights are hoping for. Instead, teams like the Carolina Hurricanes who have been involved could be asking for as much as a first- and second-round pick in order to take on that much salary over the final two seasons of Fleury’s deal.

Do it for 2 seconds, but then we would have no choice but to go with 2 of Subban, Delia or Lankinen.

Vegas does not have a 2nd in this draft. Would def need more than next year’s #2

Don’t the Hawks already own a second round pick from Vegas in the Lehner trade?

We are not positioned to broker this deal.

Fleury, the Vegas 3rd round pick this year and the NJ 2nd round pick next year (that Vegas owns) for Zack Smith, the rights to Subban, and "future considerations". (Vegas does not have a 2nd round pick this year.)

It is not Vegas keeping 50% and offering a 2nd for a team to take Fleury. Using pure example teams, the way I read this is Vegas trades Fleury to the Kings (just an example) with a 2nd round pick. LA trades Fleury to Edmonton at 50% retained. Edmonton gets a goalie, LA gets a 2nd to put 3.5 on their cap for the next 2 years, Vegas loses 7M off their cap

Really sounds like they want to make a run at Petro so want to clear all 7 mil off their cap. No bad contracts back to Vegas, no salary retention

What about this for a trade idea:

Chicago gets:
Marc-André Fleury
Vegas 1st Round Pick #29

Vegas gets:
Zach Smith

Hawks get a goalie for what they will probably pay for one on the free agent market (minus the cost of Smith) and the get a 1st rounder to get Vegas out of cap hell.

Vegas can buy out Smith at $1,083,333 per for two seasons, save them almost 6 M against the cap.

Next year might suck for the Hawks, but a second 1st this year, might make that worth it. Add a draft pick here and there to make things work.

What happens if the trade to the team retaining the salary is on his no trade list, but the final destination is not?

VGK 2nd round pick next year will be near the bottom of the round, almost like a 3rd rounder. Even their 1st would be like a 2nd.

It is being reported that the Hawks reportedly made an offer (player and/or pick) to Matt Murray's representatives beforehand where the hawks HAD a discussion a sign extension/ then be traded to the Blackhawks

Elliott Freidman said Murray's camp didn't like the numbers the Hawks offered, and the talks ended.

He now is a rfa as the Pens qualified him and can go to arbitration.
After the arbitration ruling and a number is decided, the Pens can trade him wherever they want tied to that salary number...

They have 11M now.
The difference in Smith the Fleury would be would be 3.75M so that would be 7.25 remaining. 3M for Kubalik, 2.5 or Strome. That leaves 1.75 for the last two roster spots with those on ELC contacts.

I also would like to see other trades as well, like Murphy or De Haan for a young forward and have Carlsson, Mitchell, etc. given a shot to take over a dman spot.

Like I said, next year would suck though.

How does that work...Take on 3.5 M and give us a 2nd round pick? What are they giving up?
