Jake was pacing for 20g season which is good value, slow learner by if he can be Torres like, it's a win at this point. 1.5 x 2

I’d be stoked with JV at that price point.
Would need to move someone else tho.

Sutter, OJ and Stetcher plus 2nd for OEL?

I wonder if Arz is holding out for one of Vans top prospects.
Pods, Hogs, or Demko?

I was listening to a buddy of mine, who used to know some guys down there and he sent them an email about this. They won't say much but the word is that they want better prospects then JB is offering and it's holding up the deal.

Some people are talking on HFboards that Nucks may have walked away from OEL.

There is no official word unless they talked to Lefty's secret contact

I wouldn’t lose any sleep if they do move on.

Same here

Especially if it’s because the Yotes are demanding one of the Canucks top prospects

My guess:

Boston will get him for pennies on the dollar or OEL is forced to expand his list and gets dealt to a desperate team.

I don’t see the Yotes as having any leverage to force him to expand his list. In fact he could be doing JB’s work for him if he wants to come here.

Or he’ll end up in SJ.

I don’t see a deal by then for either team. Make them sweat I say. Focus on signing Marky & start spending to make Arizona more nervous & antsy.

If JB is working the phones as much as we’ve heard , I’d hope he has a few irons in the fire.

LE/OJ/JV/2nd for OEL
About equal cap traded pre rfa QO for Jake
Arizona saves up to 4m real cash which is their biggest need given they wanna shave $10m.

Next up is moving Sutter imo. Roussel we can also live without.

I hope they walk away from OEL trade.

Like to see an upgrade on RHD Tanev and Stecher. Don't mind Schenn as a 7th D.

Also address a true 3 line at the forward position. We're loaded with big ticket 4th liners.

Definitely the stumbling block on the deal for OEL has to be Palmu and/or Manukyan.

I agree. A priority must be to get a legitimate 3rd line centre, as well as an upgrade on defense.
Preferably those are of the physical variety and not some lightweights who bounce off players when they throw a check.

So getting rid of LE, JV, Sutter, Roussel, and then Beagle bought out? That’s essentially replacing the entire bottom six. Smart move considering they are statistically one of the worst bottom six in the NHL 5v5.

Saying that, it’s too bad JB built that heinous group in the first place. Could have saved himself some trouble trying to unload all that crap.

I want to weigh in on this OEL possibility and the goalie situation since I feel they're somewhat tied together.

I'm fine with giving up a first, prospect and roster player for OEL as long as we can shed cap space in the deal. IF money is retained on LE he really costs AZ very little aside from cap space. We could also maybe send Beagle in the deal.

Where the goaltending ties in is I'm not really confident in say Lundquist/Demko if we don't have a lottery pick to fall back on. Goaltending was our strength during both seasons last year. Not having that safety net, i'm not confident in giving up a first round pick even if that means acquiring a superior talent.

I'm all for the move if we can maintain a high level of play in net, if not then i'd rather hang on to the young talent and ride out the bad contracts.

as I said this morning to you, glad Benning brought in Beagle, if not Canucks would not have made the playoffs, Beagle and Motte were the reason more goals didn’t get scored on the PK.

Eriksson and Sutter didn’t live up to expectations but Beagle and Motte certainly did, Virtanen either gets a QO or traded, and unfortunately Roussel got injured or he would have been an impactful player.
