Anyone else expecting to see expanded rosters next season, due to AHL uncertainty.
If this is the case, I could see Canucks carrying 3 goalies and 9 defensemen. - Reubenkincade
Something has to give. |

Read an article that said that specific notion isn't really the reason for the injuries. Most of the high-end players that are getting injured don't play preseason anyway. They might take a few snaps, but preseason is more for evaluating the guys on the fringe. - NewYorkNuck
This is true. I think it's getting out of shape in the offseason due to the pandemic restrictions and then starting up quickly. Preseason wouldn't really have done much anyway. |

So Canucks are out of the running? - NewYorkNuck
I seen some of the Yotes signings today. They are going to finish dead last

I think he ends up in Boston within 48 hours, if not then he stays and they re-visit trading him at the TDL.
Sounds like the Yotes prefer dealing with Boston, but Boston is using OEL talks as leverage to try and get Krug re-signed at a reasonable price, if it doesn’t go anywhere they turn to the Yotes and trade for OEL for pennies on the dollar.
Just my guess. |

Possibly, I’m cool with it. I was only into it if they took Myers or at least LE lol and that was never realistic.
Nothing wrong with just letting the Sutter - Nucker101
I mean, if the package was a 1st, OJ, Sutter.. could that not be used as a framework (plus or minus) to get someone like Pesce, Carlo, Cernak, or aim-for-the-fences Ekblad. I know those are better or worse hockey players, but finding a RHD compliment to Hughes is more important IMO than a LHD. |

Pesce would be nice, really underrated player. Canes are heavy into analytics though so they’d probably ask for a lot. |

Ya, I think it's both not enough reps in (a lot of training camp was no pads), and just bad luck. |

Nothing wrong with just letting the Sutter expire or moving him out at the TDL - Nucker101
Yup, wanted OEL but it’s an extremely risky trade and we should be targeting younger players anyways |

I'd assume Demko would be going over in that trade instead of OJ. They have so many defensemen, they need a solid goalie. |

I am not sure what the deal is with Boston as a choice but I think they are one of the teams on the way down. I was not impressed with them at all in the return to play . I have heard Rask is going to be moved and sounds like Chara and Krug could be gone.

I hope this OEL silliness is now over and the team can get back to acquiring much needed draft picks that works to the strengths of this management group. |

Players actually want to play here now, Benning should use that to his advantage. No need to overpay in trades or free agency(relatively speaking since most UFA's are overpaid). |

I'd keep Demko, personally I'm not as eager to sign the Canucks pending UFA's as most fans are lol. Especially if the contract lengths are too long. I think teams with cap space will find some nice deals in free agency or through trades. |

Yeah, their top 2 centers are 34+ years old, so even with guys like Marchand, Pasta and Mac, I think they're in for a decline. |

.@FriedgeHNIC: The Bruins have been going at this longer than the Canucks have. I think they reached a point where they said "we're not going any further." The thing these teams are saying to Arizona is, 'its 7x8.25' even though they like the player.
Bruins are offering Krug 6.5M per apparently so if Krug wants 7M, they're probably debating whether to sign Krug or trade assets for OEL at 8.25M |

I want TT back but could live in a world without Marky & Tanev. It would make for a strange season & a bubble team. A RHD to replace Tanev would be a big priority. Let Stecher be traded he doesn’t fit our needs. |

I think The Rat is 33 or 34 also. He is still a very good player but his game should be going the other way soon. |

Elliotte said Bruins and Canucks have both told the Coyotes "this is what we can do" and have left it to them.
I think he’s staying lol |

As much as I want him, meh. I am good with a step backwards development year if it comes down to it. There will be good players available for cheap due to guys not getting tendered QOs. |
