Some things never change a one year departure and counting down every minute so he could come back at me. Yeah Rent Free baby .Some of these retarded people. If you cared half as much about your marriage as you did about me you might still be married

Friedman says Benning is trying to find a way to get both OEL and Marky under the cap, but it's looking tough.

Seems like it's either a both our none of them type of situation. There's no way they acquire OEL if Marky isn't signing.

Bruins must be loving this lol

Probably best to move on from both of them.
Go with Demko, wait for someone like Jones to be bought out and sign him to back up Demko, sign Dillon and try find a decent 3rd line centre.
Also, some physicality for the bottom of the lineup.

I guess that’s why the deal has a cap dump going the other way to Arz.
Stand strong JB.

There's a theory I've read that says the ARI/VAN deal could get done, but was contingent on the Canucks being able to sign Markstrom below a certain cap hit/term. It sounds plausible, but it's all speculation.

But if it's true then it sounds like Marky isn't willing to take as much of a discount as it would take to get both of them to fit under the cap so the deal could be dead unless adjustments are made.

I am perfectly fine if they sign Marky and trade for OEL but also perfectly fine if they don't . This will look like a better team at the start of next year . We haven't even begun free agency but when I see Jake and Stech not qualified I do feel change is coming

NHL qualifying offers to pending RFA’s are due Wednesday at 3 pm mountain.

Not expecting Calgary to qualify Mark Jankowski. $1.75 million QO number is high, plus he’d have arbitration rights. Team could negotiate a different deal or he’d become a UFA. #Flames

Looks like we have our replacement for one of Sutter/Beagle. Weisbrod salivating

Marky's turning into a Tryamkin. Sign for what the Canucks can give you if you want your friend here. If not, smell ya later.

Not gonna lie, I didn't expect him to be your type of player. Doesn't like shooting the puck and isn't physical lol.

He's solid defensively though for sure and has shown goal scoring ability in the past, could be a good buy low.

He always plays well against Canucks . Last years numbers were down but has decent numbers for a third line center in years past

Your subtle jab at Weisbrod didn't land quite like you thought it would.

lol

But I do actually like him if he comes cheap(1M-ish) mainly for his defense. His offense kinda sucks, I think his goal totals the years before this past one were inflated.

i dont think hell be worth what he gets paid. flat cap may change his market but if nucks come anywhere close to his 3.9 salary from the last 2 seasons itll be an overpayment

I agree with that, I'd take him if his AAV is deflated due to the cap and hometown discount.

alternate point of view: there will be less hometown discounts because the players know the escrow will be substantial so why compound the discounts.

hometown discount + escrow =

Also true, probably why guys like Marky and Tanev are in such a tough spot. They want to stay but can't really give up too much of a discount.

yeah, exactly this. as much as players talk about the intangibles when signing a deal (city, team etc.), their agents will remind them in stark terms what they're giving up.
